Dennis Allen has been an excellent DC but I can’t imagine him being a great HC. You don’t suddenly become a great HC in your 50s if you sucked at it earlier.

Bill Belichick says hi (OK fine he technically was late 40s when he got his second chance, but you get the idea. I think the impact of coaches can be overrated. Probably the most important trait in a HC is that they not be a toxic asshole. Or at least that they build an environment that motivates players to push themselves.
Belichick wasn’t terrible with Cleveland. Made the playoffs once in 5 years and other years were at least mediocre. It’s not like he had particularly talented roster - after firing him team got worse.
Raiders were complete dumpster fire with Allen (for a defensive coach, his teams were bottom of league every year in D), and then immediately after firing him had a decent season and then made playoffs (although a decent amount of that credit goes to Carr become a solid QB).
well the browns didn’t exist after they fired him
they went from 5-11 to the ravens 4-12 so team got worse is arguable
being the Matt Nagy or Jeff Fisher of the Browns isn’t a point in his favor man
36-44 with cle is worse than nagy on the bears, though I guess it’s a little better than fisher on the rams
For the history of the browns in the SB era, he should have a statue. There are probably combos of 3 or even 4 coaches wo 36 wins.
