I hate to say it but an really serious case in one of these assholes might go a long way towards shutting up some morons. Apparently Rodgers was talking up horse paste again.
Only one 300 yard passer this whole week. Has to have been decades since that happened.
Definitely not looking for approval or acceptance, lololololololol.
This is so fucked up:
“I wouldn’t say it was dirty, but it’s just kind of where the game has gone,” Fitzgerald said. “Guys are tackling lower. They had to bring their aim point down. You know, when I played, I actually told guys, ‘Hit me up high. I’ll pay your fine.’ The head trauma and things that come along with it, they affect you later on in life. A blown ACL or a ruptured Achilles tendon, those things right there will end your career on the spot. And so it’s a very unfortunate part of the game trying to be more cautious and conscientious of guy’s heads and lowering the aim point, but it has definitely put the lower extremities in a much more compromising position. And it is really unfortunate because you see guys like Chris suffer the effects of it, and you see it across the league all the time, especially with the tight ends who are larger. They just get their legs chopped out from under them. I don’t think leg injuries are going anywhere. This is the way guys are going to continue to tackle.”
So you rather deal with your brain injury later than getting your career cut short because of a serious leg injury. Imagine playing a sport where your choice is between pest or cholera. Cant wait till Brady retires so I go back to just watching the SB or completely losing interest.
I’m confused. The things Brady said seem reasonable. The fucked up things were said by Fitzgerald. I can’t tell if you’re angry at Brady, or if you’re just saying that once he retires you will have no more reason for watching?
I don’t think what Fitzgerald said is that absurd. I mean, I don’t want a brain injury, but I’m also not an NFL wide receiver with a maybe 10 year career shelf life before I’m out of a job.
“And I’m sure almost every pass-catcher in the NFL would prefer a hit to the head over a hit to the knees. I certainly would. I’d take that a million out of a million.”
That seems problematic. I guess it’s reasonable from the sense that players would probably rather get paid and have CTE than not get paid.
That said, I bet Brady thinks he’s protected from CTE due to all the special water he drinks.
I thought I read all the Brady quotes but I missed that one somehow.
Agreed. If the choice is blowing out your knee or a concussion, they’re taking the concussion every time. The concussion doesn’t immediately risk the end of your career or a large sum of money.

I’ve stated repeatedly the Bears OL wasn’t as bad as people claimed it was but I didn’t see that number coming in the pass game.
Nope. Its worse I am a rooting for Brady(also rooting for him to retire before he ends like Manning in his last season). I think the first SB i watched was the Bucs winning in the early 2000s. Then I just settled for the NE Patriots because it sounded cool at the time. When all the Manning vs Brady rivalry started I just sticked with him. In the last years its just hoping for another ring to get the haters mad when lots of people on the internet( ) said he cant throw anymore and is a system quarterback. Also not wanting anyone getting close to his accomplisments. Mahomes was a threat but after the last SB the road is much harder for him now. But other than that there is not much that keeps me interested in the league. Not many Germans in the league and Amon Ra St. Brown plays for the Lions so that is no good. Another problem is that the overall quality of sports displayed isnt very good. You have a handful of quarterbacks who are good to great every week and then you have half a league full of teams if you watch their games as a fan you get old very quick. I probably already lost years witnessing the NE-SEA/ATL SBs.
Few years back there was a thread in 2+2 where people(esp those who had kids) in the sports forum said they dont want their kids to go into football. So yeah I should just stop financing a product that wrecks humans on a regular basis.
They just shut out the world champs. I am sure they will be fine.
Book it.

And my favorite memories ever of football, Walter Payton over the top.

Weirdly saints defense seem to be the most common defense in this thread by a large margin.
Not a catch
Who can forget this Thanksgiving Classic?
Immediately thought of the image of Titans/Rams with one yard short.
But I submit this one- Watching this play as a kid doomed me into being a life long Dolphins fan.
I was at that game. Was crazy.
