The NFL is doing the right thing? Consider me shocked.

Well, it’s still motivated by money. It being the right thing to do is just a coincidence.

This seems good, I guess, but idk if I’d call it the “right thing.” It seems kinda shitty that they’re taking away everyone’s paychecks. I get that it will create a lot of pressure player-to-player, which I assume is by design, but I wonder if there were other ways they could have done this without outsourcing the pressuring to the players, you know? Feels like the owners get to sit pretty taking on basically zero risk while labor will carry the weight here. What did the NFLPA get out of this?

Why do people think the owners are going to get off light if their team is forfeited? Im assuming if a game is cancelled the ownership is going to lose their percentage of the gate and TV revenue?

They should tie stadium capacity % to vac %.

The NFL didn’t have to forfeit a single game last year iirc. So I think mostly this is just a shot across the bow.

but they rescheduled a ton iirc, and they are saying they won’t due that this year.

They said if it can’t be rescheduled. Which is pretty malleable.

Every nfl player took like 12 vaccines to enter college

If cases are going up now, it’s gonna be horrific in the latter part of the season. I’m sure that was a factor.

I’m pretty sure suzzer is right about this, but it kind of opens up a can of worms.

Let’s say one team has an outbreak early in the season. Through changing a bunch of games they are effectively able to reschedule that teams game.

Now one of the other teams impacted by the rescheduling has an outbreak that would have fallen in their bye week. But that was changed to accommodate the first outbreak for that other team. Now this team’s game can’t be rescheduled, so they have to forfeit. But it only happened because they were forced to change their schedule through no fault of their own.

Given that all teams are in the same position going into the season, I don’t think above is actually unfair, but I can imagine a lot of grumbling if such a scenario comes to pass.

“if”

Vikings line coach refuse vaccine, Vikings refuse his services.

Do they not realize they play in a league where they are literally obligated to report every injury?
