The National Football League

we call a lot of people GOAT, but this one is truly, without a doubt, the GOAT.

The last NFL player from the 90s is gone.

Guy kicked with a messed-up knee in 2019 and nobody wanted him in 2020. No surprise he hung it up.

I dunno.

If my life was on the line, I think Iā€™m going with peak Justin Tucker over peak Adam Vinatieri.

Iā€™m still a believer in Tua. He was the full package in college. SEC, good arm, fast decision maker. The only thing he lacked was size. Iā€™m not saying itā€™s a 1:1 comparison but drew Brees sucked for like 3 years at first.

Yea but Tua busted his hip in college. How long can he physically handle the NFL?

If Tua gets anywhere near Brees level, I will be randymarsh.jpg.

If you can get rid of the ball quickly you are basically invincible. Brady never gets hit. Marino could barely walk. Few have that skillet but Tua just might.

Iā€™m sure Philly sports fans reacted in a way that confirms my faith in humanity.

Iā€™m going to click on it. I know itā€™s a bad idea.

UPDATE: I think a lot of the comments were deleted. There are responses criticizing the assholes, but I havenā€™t seen a ton of assholes.

How dare they not include preferred pronouns?!

Yeah, that was my experience too. And while that is a good thing, I was also mildly disappointed since I was looking forward to tasting some tears before the comments got nuked.

Iā€™m sure some of them have been saved and tweeted. Like these

heā€™s also 48 in a sport the only guys 40+ are long snappers and tom brady.

Even the K/Pā€™s arenā€™t 40+ anymore.

Whatā€™s also remarkable about Adam is that he didnā€™t have breaks during his career. Blanda and Andersen were pulled out of retirement. Carney was signed midseason on numerous occasions.

There are only going to be two players 40 or over going into the 2021 season. Iā€™m too lazy to check, but Iā€™m curious if there was ever a season where there were no 40+ players in the league (or even just one for that matter). Seems unlikely given how long past their 40s some guys played but who knows. Then again, players didnā€™t train that well in the past. Toss in expansion and the popularity of the sport and maybe there will be more. Okay, my initial idea was wrong

Quick glossover: There hasnā€™t been one in 1963, 1977, 1980-1982, 1987-1989. Otherwise, thereā€™s been at least one in every season since 1960. Most have been past 2000.

Carr to Nelson Agholor was a great deep ball combo last year, feel like asking every game they had a huge hookup

Thatā€™s misleading. No one is expecting Daniel Jones to throw over 20 yards.

NFL has to stop doing phrenology

FAILCONS

Looks like a second plus a lower-round pick

Getting rid of Jones is a rebuilding move. However, the Falcons didnā€™t treat the rest of the offseason like they were rebuilding. If they were gonna dump Jones, they probably shouldā€™ve started pushing Matt Ryan out the door too by drafting a QB at #4 instead of Kyle Pitts.

Matt has fallen off a bit in the past two seasons and Jones dealt with recurring injuries all last season. I see some sense in getting rid of a past-his-prime player breaking down while you still can. Itā€™s not like theyā€™re going to re-sign him when his contract is up.
