The Inso0 AMA: Now featuring, "it's just a flu"

I don’t see the point of asking him for arguments or close reading of the Bible. The whole point of religion for people like him is belief without evidence. He has no answer for why kids get cancer. That’s pretty much Day 1 for anyone who claims to be a thinking Christian.

First off, you don’t have any kind of explanation. Secondly, current theories sure don’t include some guy in the Middle East getting a hold of koalas and euclyptus leaves and then somehow they crawled off to Australia.

The verse I quoted has nothing to do with believe or evidence.

This speaks to something that many aspire toward but can’t quite overcome the inherent selfishness that plagues humanity to actually reach it. It’s undeniable that I’d be a goat, as would every single person on this forum. Admittedly I haven’t really read it in like 10 years, but I think one of the common themes in the bible is how we as individuals constantly fail in our attempts to be Christlike, but by grace you will still be saved.

This weekend I dropped $2k+ on a new TV for my bedroom. A sheep as described in that passage would’ve used those financial resources for the greater societal good. All most of us can do as humans is to take a few of the many opportunities that live gives us to act like one of Jesus’ flock.

I’d have been able to give you a more eloquent answer on this when I was still an active church-goer and participating in small group studies.

Short answer: I am a failure, and so are you.

You’re also assuming something identifiable as a Koala existed at the time.

If anyone is in the market for a new TV, I can’t recommend this one enough after 2 days of Netflix binge.

Huh? Reading and commenting on a verse has plenty to do with both of those things.

Anyway, it doesn’t matter. This “Christian” has the perfect get-out-of-Church free card: we’re all failures; buy a huge TV, YOLO.

…with money extorted by the threat of making homeless his customers.

$2k for a TV in 2020. Jesus.

Thanks for doing this, Inso.

Is the Covid a plot to destroy Trump and or capitalism?

I thought this as well, but did the research and bit the bullet. I did a side-by-side test first of our $500 TCL panel in the living room and was blown away at the difference. Sorry kids, the good one is going upstairs.

The worst part is needing to now build a bigger NAS and only download 4k media going forward instead of the 1080p garbage I have terabytes upon terabytes of now.

Of course not. Seems to be another indictment against mainland China’s sketchy culinary practices, though.

If capitalism dies, it’ll be through revolution and violence, not a flu virus.

This is nonsense. Did you actually (re)read the verse? All I asked you is what the message was.

It’s a simple question. Stop dodging. This has nothing to do with fancy TVs.

Libs successfully triggered

Don’t do the right thing just because someone is watching or you think it’ll improve your own standing in the universe. Do the right thing precisely because it’s the right thing. The message is one of selflessness.

Now we transition the discussion to Colombian children in cages at the Mexican border, and it’s all downhill from there. Jesus was the OG socialist.

Edit: AND he was a “person of color” so consider my jimmies extra rustled. Point made and taken, good sir.

Edit2: For the itchy trigger fingers ITT, that last one was a joke.

This exactly, but unironically.

Inso0,

Would you say that you were wrong in your initial impressions about how serious a problem COVID-19 is?

So by this post you clearly DO get the message that biblical Jesus was trying to send on this topic, and probably many others.

And yet you support Donald Trump, who is about as much of an antithesis to this message as I can think of.

How do you square this with your Christian beliefs?

Just admit that you’re not willing to follow the very obvious path that the person you supposedly worship has set (talking about Jesus here, not Trump) because you don’t feel like it.

And don’t give me this nonsense about “inherent selfishness plaguing humanity”. This isn’t about humanity. This is YOUR personal choice.

I assume you’re referring to the post where I said there’d be more murders in Chicago this year than US deaths to the virus. I think “wrong” is an understatement.

Donald Trump wasn’t elected in a vacuum. There were other factors at play, including the fact that HRC was behind door number two. No winners, there. I don’t think you’ll find any pro-Trump posts from me during the 2016 election cycle, and I don’t think you’ll find any particularly pro-Trump posts from me since then. I have said that I don’t think he’s as much of a trainwreck as he’s made out to be by the people who have an unhealthy obsession with him, but that’s about it. I’ve probably defended him from a, “c’mon boys, now you’re just being ridiculous” standpoint, but outright RAH RAH TRUMP’S OUR MAN IF HE CAN’T DO IT, NO ONE CAN! … I don’t think so.

Trump is a narcissistic clown who needs his phone taken away from him, but I don’t subscribe to the “Trump = Hitler?” newsletter.

That seems worthy of a “Trump > HRC” undertitle.

You can give me whatever title makes you happy.

Which of the Democratic candidates would you have/will you vote for over Trump in 2020?

Would UBI go straight to landlords?
