i cant make a real comparison there but nz recruits professionals to emigrate and i had a friend who started a business in australia and got deported not too long ago for practically zero reason so i guess that’s what i’m forming that opinion on
NZ would be easy for me to do as a doc. My wife was born in England but was never a citizen. They don’t really have my specialty either as I understand it.

yes professions like that help their process tremendously. I met exactly the points threshold to be considered, but i’d be way better off if I was married, iirc.
That’s a good reason. I’ve tried that argument (not for Ireland, but Spain and UK). It didn’t get a lot of traction. My best shot is Canada, and things need to get a lot worse here before she will seriously consider it.
I don’t know their point system specifically, but just about everyone gives extra points for youth, so better sooner than later.
for me i just want access to decent reliable healthcare and safety nets and a place to raise a family if i decide to ever do that
i could also see the US devolving into widespread massive violence that’s fairly commonplace, even more than now

Getting deported from Australia when you are on a business visa means your business failed or did something very shady or you got caught with drugs. Australia and NewZealand are almost identical when it comes to immigration on professional or business visas. Australia just sucks a lot more for asylum seekers and family reunion visas.

Friendly reminder that a scenario where the US gets bad enough to flee while other countries remain both stable and open to immigration from fleeing rando professionals is probably not very likely.
