Unrelated to Trump, Iām pretty sure you can copy UI/UX patterns all you want at this point. Iām sure there is some line to be drawn, but I imagine itās nearly impossible anyone would get in legal trouble for stuff like this. Facebook (and then everyone else) very openly copied Snapchat stories a few years ago. A UX pattern isnāt intellectual property. Brand stuff is obviously a lot different
Truth Social just uses an open source platform called Mastodon, they were called out for it in October. Iād be surprised if Twitter goes after them but who knows.

itās taking however many months to launch a platform based on mastodon, which is just ridiculous. i have had coworkers promise to install some open-source in a couple of standups, and when it didnāt materialize 10 weeks in everyone immediately knew that it was vaporware. i guess when he runs, the thinking that it will be a guaranteed 75m users opening the app or whatever, but it will be some really high portion of bot/farm-generated content, to the point of being unusable. plus their entire thing is to own the libs, but there will be approximately zero libs there to be owned.*
but honestly i remember hrc had an app in 2016. it was all about working in a boring election office. i wish she had try to copy twotter but thatās clearly beyond what edems would ever be caught doing. waaf.
