I’m kind of ashamed at how risk-averse I’ve become. 30 years ago I’d throw everything I owned in my car and drive 2,000 miles to a state I’d never been to before with no plan and a couple hundred bucks to my name. Now I’m trying to ensure I have a foot securely planted in two locations before I even make a decision about which one to stay in.

I’ve done versions of that 5 times to 5 different states. Now I’m old and I just want the security of being able to poop in the same toilet every day in a bathroom I don’t have to share with anybody.

I love Gilmore Girls, and I only got into it because my brother’s girlfriend would watch the reruns of it every weekday afternoon when he and I lived together in college. I got hooked on it with her.
Someone mentioned Dawson’s Creek. I never watched that, but if Dawson’s Creek is like Gilmore Girls I would be surprised. Though that would make me want to finally give Dawson’s Creek a chance.
