Well now that I signed up, the email they sent me says the window is actually 1-2 months. Oh well, gives me time to watch Parks and Rec on the Peacock app-- about the only cool thing about xfinity.

Geek post incoming: Just be aware, if you do anything with inbound access to your home network from outside, T-Mo and Starlink and some of these other wireless carriers do a special kind of NAT where you basically don’t have any kind of public IP address you can come in on. Might not apply to you but just a warning.

It could end up being a short-term solution anyway. No commitment. Costs ~25% less. No unwanted “extras”. Middle finger to xfinity. Should’ve done it a while ago.
