Fuck off, George
I’m going to crosspost a post I just made two minutes ago:
Every Dem needs to be yelling and screaming and pointing at Ted Cruz right now and instead they’re planning more FIRED Florida Man investigations. JFC, where is Beto? He should be on camera shoveling driveways and handing out food and shit right now.
Beto was on camera yesterday talking about it and he was doing volunteer work etc
Yup, right after Sisyphus gets the Boulder to the top of the hill.
If the guys the former head of SDNY and leaving a major firm to work for Vance, I’d say that’s a pretty big deal. I’m pretty worried about the SCT sitting on the subpoena case per that CNN article. A significant question is whether Mitch throwing Trump under the bus with have any pull with Kavanaugh and Gorsuch, because Thomas, Alito, and Barrett are full on cult members (not so much of the Trump cult, but of other cults).
I feel like the right wing supreme’s either see themselves as the bosses or know that they work for the Koch brother. I doubt any of them have any positive personal feelings about Trump.
It’s not that they won’t help him when put on the spot, but they definitely won’t help him in the ways that the normies don’t understand.
Dude, come on.
We’ve been telling you for 3+ years nothing is going to happen to Donald Trump. It legitimately astounds me an objectively smart person could have any faith in the legal system to hold him accountable at this point.
I was pretty convinced he was fucked the day he wasn’t president anymore, but I’m obviously a lot less confident with every day he walks around free.
I’m seriously very confused why someone universally hated by every powerful person on the planet with a list of exceptions you could count on two hands, who has committed all the crimes many in public, wasn’t in cuffs 10 minutes after Biden became POTUS.
The systemic risks this creates are incredible and honestly at the stage our current democracy is at I’d be conflicted af if an authoritarian technocrat showed up and offered to lead our empire into a new era like Augustus. And thanks to us not punishing Trump that Authoritarian technocrat doesn’t have to worry about real consequences if their coup fails.
All hail emperor Pete I guess.
The people with enough power and influence to hold him accountable live extremely comfortable lives and the last thing they need is to get dragged through an extremely public and undoubtedly dirty confrontation with Donnie Dumb Dumb and his unethical legal reps. Its nice to think people would do it because its the right thing to do, but somebody will have to want to do it for selfish reasons (to advance their own political career for example).
There are literally dozens of Democratic prosecutors in districts where he’s committed major felonies who could dine out on his head being mounted on their wall for the rest of their careers. Several someone’s are protecting him.
The one that makes no sense to me is the lack of tax fraud charges.
I get the GA election thing is a tough case because GA, and obstruction of justice is boring and process oriented and messy.
But the tax fraud is fucking blatant. Everyone understands that taking a $70,000 haircut deduction is fraudulent and willful, among many other offenses.
Yea, but … their lives are going to be perfectly comfortable and happy if they don’t do that. I think you’re overstating the “glory” of the assumed prosecution victory, and underestimating the wear and tear of a high profile legal dispute. You’re talking about 80 hour weeks for months to years on end, constant press exposure, the deplorables on the other side throwing mud at you constantly and making up rumors about your personal and private life. That shit ends marriages and ruins lives. For most people the tradeoff simply isn’t worth it. The candidates all have the option of building perfectly rewarding careers on less toxic cases.
I mean think about the fraud charges you could auto bring in NY (where the jury pool is a problem for Trump not an advantage) just off the different valuations he submits on his real estate holdings to the state vs lenders?
That case is a massive layup and they have had the ability to fully investigate it for four years. I honestly expected whoever had the jurisdiction on that to grab him at his post presidency party. I expected him out on bail obviously, but I absolutely expected a perp walk on either inauguration day or the day after.
For the lawbros out there, suppose Trump is indicted in New York or Georgia. Is extradition likely? What’s involved in that decision? Is it political at all? Does DeSantis help Trump in that case?
Lol dude these people are prosecutors. In liberal cities. I think you’re greatly underestimating the upside for someone with a lot of ambition. I’d fucking do it right now if I had the power and I have a very comfortable life myself.
If they’re worried about that they just grab him the second his fat ass isn’t in Florida.
I suppose it is possible they are just waiting for emotions to cool a bit or whatever, but I no longer ever trust there is a long term plan with these lawbros after the absolute disaster that was the Mueller investigation.
I’ll take action if someone wants to bet on Trump being indicted and facing trial anywhere.
