Been saying for awhile, dems fear the voter backlash in 2022 and I’m not sure they’re wrong too.

Dem party leaders are definitely protecting Trump for now. They don’t want massive turnout in 2022. Either that or they don’t give a fuck about winning and are protecting him because they don’t want their side prosecuted for future crimes.

I’m real sick of @boredsocial nievity here wrt Trumps crimes… When his father managed to embed the Trump family in all things illegal in NYC he cemented his families name in history forever and ever.

Learn about his father’s crimes and you’ll all realise what he was and is now… A white mafia Don.

Oh I’m well aware of what Donald Trumps dad was and what Donald Trump is. But I’m also well aware of the history of what happens to mafia dons who fly too close to the sun in NYC. It always goes the same way.

Prosecutor advancing in politics after high profile convictions is pretty standard. Rudy may have used his career for a lot of bad stuff, but he had a good career.

I hope you’re right but where’s the evidence that the world is packed full of heroic lawyers chomping at the bit to sacrifice their personal physical and mental health and marriages to Do The Right Thing?

Most lawyers who do criminal law, prosecution and defense. It’s a relatively low paying sub specialty, to the point that it’s common for prosecutors to have 2nd jobs.

Trump has a very real cult army. You will be going after their leader. It’s not a gang or a mafia family or any conventional dangerous assignment, it’s throngs of armed and brainwashed people. You will be a prime target if you go after Trump.

It’s not that lol. I mean you’re 100% correct but people but their lives in danger all the time for personal gain, most of these people would take that chance because the reward would be huge.

Power players in the party are telling them to hold off.

Honestly the move is to wait until after 2022. I doubt anything ever happens, but if I’m in control of the party I’m telling the prosecutors build your cases, stfu when it comes to the press, and wait until after 2022.

Democracy is on the line, I don’t want to give those inbreds another reason to show up. After 2022 go ahead and drop the hammer. Either we have enough votes to pass new voter rights legislation or WAAF so Trump should be too.

Trumps a private citizen now so we don’t need either house of congress to prosecute him and nothing congress can do to stop it. Just launch of a bunch of grievance investigations and whine but they’re gonna do that anyways.

Uh what do you think happens after 2022? Because the guy is running for president again and when he announces it makes it even harder to prosecute him.

IIRC - states don’t have to extradite, but I don’t think there has ever been an instance in the last 100 years (and probably longer) where a state has refused to extradite someone when requested. It only comes up when multiple states want to prosecute the same person and the question is who gets to go first/imprison them.

DeSantis is threatening to withhold the vaccine in places. He would snap protect Trump from being extradited to another state if it came down to that.

I guess I’ll feel better about these supposed Trump lawsuits when they actually appear. Deutchbank gave up their dirt on Trump like what, six months ago? The SDNY has been crowing about going after him for like years now and it’s not clear what they’ve been waiting for these three months.

You have to make sure your ketchup is super fresh before pouring it on your burnt steak.

It’s not about freshness, he’s terrified of being poisoned because he knows he’s a piece of shit with lots of enemies.

And he knows Trump hotels reuse the half full ketchup bottles to save money.

I don’t want to accept this argument. If democracy is really on the line, the inbreds will hold it hostage every time/all the time. If democracy and the rule of law can’t withstand the challenge of holding a law-breaker accountable, then we’re fucked. The only path to victory is to not negotiate with the terrorists and win on stuff like this.
