The Former Presidency of Donald J. Trump, Volume XI: The Crypt Keeper Years

Just once I’d like to see one of these censured Republicans insta-flip Democrat.

Whole bunch of “We Got Hims” in this piece:

The Osage County (OK) Republican Party (just NE of Tulsa) met shortly after the inauguration. They voted to censure, and ask for the resignations of, Sens. Inhofe and Lankford because they voted to certify the electors on Jan. 6th and this showed insufficient loyalty to Trump. For perspective, on the morning of the 6th Lankford had joined with the Cruz-aligned seditionists but broke with them after the riots. And Inhofe has to be near the redline on anyone’s deplorable-o-meter. That’s how Oklahoma rolls.

Correct. There will be a newer shinier object for the fascists in 4 years then the loser from 4 years ago.

We did get him. Who’s sitting in the Oval Office at this very moment? That was always the only way we were ever going to “get” him.

So the net effect of all these censures is that all these super duper deplorable republicans are going to be primaried and replaced with actual Nazis?

Oh god, he’s going to be in “legal jeopardy” much like the jeopardy he’s been in for years. I’d like to see him wriggle his way out of this!

Yup… Appropriate thread changes have been made. :point_up_2:

Trump is going to live out the rest of his life comfortably golfing and suffering no consequences from all of his crimes and people just cannot mentally accept that.

We’re going to be hearing lawbro fantasies about the SDNY hauling Trump off to jail for the next ten years.

Mitch believes in maintaining institutional power at all costs. He believes what Trump did is wrong and maybe even evil, but convicting a Republican president would taint the perception of the party and diminish its power as a political institution far more than what Mitch chose to do instead. He believes maintaining institutional power for the GOP is worth the collateral damage we suffer for the party to thrive.

So Lindsey is full stop pushing MAGA 2022 now and Trump as the party leader.

I mean does he have a choice? Trump owns like 70% of the party at a minimum, maybe 80%.If they don’t kiss the ring they risk losing a huge chunk of their base.

Hopefully its enough to give us a huge boost with independents in 2022.

it’s gotta be a high %. People who aren’t trump fans left. Only people added are trump fans for the past 4 years.

The only thing that’s going to “give us a huge boost with independents in 2022” is getting important shit done that help people these next two years.
