There is a HUGE difference cognitive-wise between 2016 and 2024 Trump. To assume 2024 Trump is the same as 2016 Trump is folly.

2024 is way too far off to worry about. Either we keep the house and add more Senate seats in 2022 or we’re in big trouble .We need a new voting rights act and new states.
Red states are taking voter suppression insane levels and I have a hard time seeing us win back the trifecta in at least a decade if we don’t get those things. And once they get it… holy shit.
But yeah I’m not too worried about Trump. Buy with the precedent he set and the mandate from their voters any republican president is going to be very, very bad.

That said I’m pretty hopeful. Dems seem to get it now. A couple huge bills and no Trump on the ballot makes us pretty big favorites imo.

Sure - but Trump 2024 has advantages that Trump 2016 didn’t. He now has a loyal support base (even if his campaign team for 2020 wasn’t great, it was better than his 2016 team). Also, he’s whipped all R’s into submission, whereas in 2016 you still had Cruz saying vote your conscience.
They could build an LOL that reached from the earth to the moon and it would be insufficient to represent this historical artifact.
