I don’t know why people don’t talk about this more: Increase the number of seats in the House of Representatives. It will take away the unfair advantage rural states have in the electoral college.
Yes, good.
At the very least he will look angry and yell at the moderator or whatever.
He could’ve called him out much harder for being a failed leader both when it comes to covid and business. Instead, he literally said, “billionaires and millionaires like him” implying that Trump might be a successful billionaire. I wanted to break break something when I heard that
At some point, Biden needs to call him a loser right to his face on national TV. Those words literally need to come out of his mouth: “You’re a loser!” It’s the only thing that may change a conned Trump supporter’s mind who still thinks he’s some shrewd business man playing the system
Based on my FB feed and other general observations - there are a lot of people who may lean one way or the other, but probably don’t vote in the midterms, and barely pay to politics attention until the presidential debates. They may mostly still vote for whomever their tribe likes - but I think they can be energized or de-energized.
The good news is they usually only watch the first debate. The next two are for wonks.
Trump approaches Biden in a threatening manner yelling nonsense. Joe turns and hits him with a straight right and drops Trump.
What would happen? Would Biden get arrested? What would happen if Trump hit his head and died, would both just get replaced?
One idea for this is the Wyoming rule. I prefer my own modification, which is that the least populous state should have two representatives. I also want to increase the Senate to either three or six per state if we can’t change the equal representation so that every state is voting on someone every cycle.
Trump will likely try to yell into Biden’s lapel mic. Biden needs to pull out his mask and put it on quickly when Trump approaches.
My biggest fear is Trump comes out and acts relatively civil in the next debate and the press just fawns all over him.
Remember the Obama second debate disaster with Romney? The press just ate that shit up. My Dad called me apoplectic that Obama had just blown the election.
He isn’t capable of doing this.
I know we’re on a political forum and all supremely online, but most people are not. These debates are for the people who have tuned out on politics and I think Covid has increased the number of people who have done so.
I hope not. He’s set the bar so low all he has to do is only interrupt 40 times instead of 100 and it will be deemed a big presidential moment for him.
Actually, I think more people are tuned into politics because of COVID. Easy to tune out when society is functioning smoothly. Their lives are being more affected by government than usual.
Is his medical staff capable of drugging him into doing that?
The main thing is that the next debate is a town hall format. I think Trump has enough sense to not get into an argument with a citizen asking the question, but he’s also going to be tone-deaf to a lot of questions and will look for a chance to argue with the moderator.
I’m hoping for a moment where Trump tries to interject himself when Biden is answer a question and the town hall participant calls out Trump for being a rude asshole.
Trump is behind in all the polls. He needs a knockout punch and apart from the debates there are few opportunities to get one in.
Trump does not behave logically or rationally.
Dude it’s Trump. He can’t even have a 5 min press conference without going off the rails. And this is a 2 hour town hall. Biden will make zingers about Trump to the audience and he is gonna flip when people are laughing at him. He cannot be civil.
Lol, even Ben Shapiro can’t really spin this debate as anything but bad for Trump.
I think he (and others) could spin it, all this stuff feels more like rats abandoning a sinking ship to me. Like every day Trump escalates the crazy but he’s not on track to win.
Wallace is as hated on right wing social media as on left wing, fwiw. They all blame him for letting Biden talk over Trump all night.
