for one, not try to sell us this bullshit. he’s moderated debates with the president before. he’s interviewed the president often. He knows who he is and insists on normalizing him at every opportunity.

Comparing this to the 2016 debate, I think Joe is right to use this strategy. Dismiss him. Call him a liar. Hillary kept telling people to do their own fact checks. Google it, go to her website. Lol STFU. Just call him a liar. We expect the nominee to position THEMSELVES as the authority on the issue. Joe simply saying nope, that’s a lie, nope, that’s bull shit, nope, he has no idea what he’s talking about–it gives the impression that the stuff Trump is saying is OBVIOUSLY a lie, otherwise Biden would spend time dismantling it and pointing us to where to fact check the nuance. Instead Biden laughs at him and calls him a clown. Trump’s lies are so stupid that Biden can’t be bothered.

When Obama was first elected the Rs falsely accused him of going on an apology tour for America. I hope that Biden wins and one of the first things he does is an apology tour for the USA. First top Merkel’s house. Then Macron, NATO, EU, Abe, So Korea then a swing through Central America ending at Mexico. Probably should work the Baltics, Canada, NZ, Africa and Aus in there too.

I don’t think that would help. The world gave the US a mulligan after Bush. Now Trump has made it clear again that the US cannot be relied upon. The very next election might bring another president treating her allies like adversaries. The upside hopefully will be that the EU will accelerate towards a political union.

I know we want to fantasize about winning the debates and the Trumpers seeing the light after some witty Biden zingers, but the reality is that anyone who likes Trump thinks he won last night (and the next two times) and is going to vote for him. Anyone who likes Biden thinks he won last night (and the next two times) and will vote for him.
I know it’s all edgelord to say that everyone’s mind is made up and only someone in a coma for the last 4 years and came to with the debate on might be persuaded, but yah, that.
It won’t happen, but honestly he should apologize to Iran and China too.
