This is a very good clip for Biden. Trump comes across as an unhinged bully and hides most of Bidenās weak moments.

Yeah, I dunno, watching the moderator plead with Trump like a kindergarten teacher to behave himself was the highlight of the debate. Itās going to be less of a circus if they can just cut his mike off.

I hope it doesnāt work against Joe. Building on what Trolly said, I think Biden was seen as the winner because of how unhinged Trump was.
On the upside, it would allow him to not have to constantly battle, and simply compose himself when itās his time, say Trump lied a bunch like he always does, and then pivot to a prepared answer.

Good point. I donāt recall Trollyās post on the matter, but to your analysis, while I believe Trump lost for that reason this time, I think itās a mistake to say that Biden won ONLY because of that.
Trump is a time bomb. If they fix the mics, Biden will do fine and Trump will sabotage his campaign some other way. We can predict this will happen because itās what always happens, but the difference in peopleās perception and reaction is infinitely different in 2020 vs 2016.
I think it will be at worst neutral but will only help Biden. Itās going to knock the crowd for a loop when they do all of this stuff to reign Trump in and he continues to escalate, but THATāS WHAT HE DOES EVERY TIME. Itās me who will be shocked if this is the one exception, because last night proved he has no self control left.

Youāre probably right Trump will find another method of self-sabotage. Agree also that the viewerās perspective is different. This was a big theme of mine last night. 2016 many were willing to see that and say ābut I want changeā¦maybe thatās what we need to shake things up.ā I donāt think (or hope!) thereās not enough saying it anymore. Fool me once, shame onā¦shame on you. Fool meā¦ you canāt get fooled again.
