[ ] “This didn’t turn out like we hoped it would. Let’s leave it on the cutting room floor.”
[ ] “Meh, we spent the money so let’s put it out there quietly and see if people like it.”
[x] “This is genius! We need to tease this masterpiece multiple times before releasing it!”
Exhibit 237,202,347 that Rs are effective at pounding simple messages that drive the narrative, but are horribly unfunny.
Trump has been spewing the exact same rambling nonsense for weeks during his campaign events, interviews and on social media. It should have been very easy to have a perfect response to all of them.
If it worked for Mike Larson on Press Your Luck, it can work for Biden against Trump.
[Larson] eventually took a job as an assistant manager at Walmart and then sold shares in what the Security and Exchange Commission called “a fraudulent multi-level marketing scheme” run by a company called Pleasure Time, Inc. that involved a non-existent American Indian lottery and raised $1.8 million from 14,000 investors. Larson had become one of the pioneers of internet scams
Oh man. I guess he shouldn’t have…pressed his luck.
Gordon is just your typical right wing fascist rangers supporting scotsman, plenty of them here unfortunately.
Pity he’s so popular as he’s a **** and his shows are staged reality shows, nothing else.
He also laughed at him to his face.
I don’t like Donald Trump.
…and The Last Jedi.
Can someone explain to me the upside of Biden doing anything than showing her respect?
If Republicans decide they want her she’s in. Biden can mention her vocal record on ACA but that should be it. Am I missing something?
Undecided voters wanted to see if Trump was right that Biden would have a stroke on stage and/or start drooling and forget his name and where he was and/or fall asleep. That did not happen.
He was prompted, though. Joe Said their name.
There’s still plenty of room for development. I grew up around social conservatism and was a hardened right-winger up until my early 20s because of it. I started developing my own political views after that even though I wasn’t all that nuanced or informed when doing so. It took almost 10 years for me to deprogram myself and form a coherent world view.
It’s really around one’s 20s where people become entrenched in one ideology or another. Anybody before that is malleable.
The curves that people are grading this debate on are surreal. If Trump is more presidential than Biter from GoT, that’s a win, but if Biden doesn’t perfectly deliver the perfect comeback to literally every insanity that Trump spews, he’s weak. I mean, even by those standards, people are conceding that Biden won, but the reality is that he crushed the debate. Probably someone else could have crushed it harder, but who cares?
I definitely have not read that but I would question what the point of that strategy is? Who is that supposed to sway?
The nomination cannot fail on her actual qualifications, literally the only chance the dems had was to kick up enough fuss about process and gum up the works in government enough to stop it under a pretense of illegitimacy. Pounding the table on this point is also the only (vanishingly small) chance they had of turning any GOP votes.
Any strategy by the dems to bring the conversation around to why she isn’t a good nominee can’t be about actually stopping her. By talking about her qualifications you are conceding that she should be evaluated on her merits. And I’ve heard several people make this point.
To be clear, I don’t for a second think they actually wanted to stop her getting through, but if we’re talking optimal strategy to do it something something womens reproductive rights is not it.
Unrelated but I love Gordon Ramsay
That’s a guy who would get Trump in a battle of big mouths.
Get Ramsay into Kitchen Nightmares mode and it’s all over.
Russia’s pro-Kremlin TV savours debate ‘disgrace’
The Trump-Biden debate is a lead story on Russian TV this morning, with news bulletins focusing on the chaotic nature of the event.
State TV’s Channel One: “A political theatre of the absurd. A verbal duel which has been dubbed the most scandalous in the history of election campaigning in the US… The most important political show in the presidential race has probably never been so chaotic before.”
Pro-Kremlin NTV television: “There was no constructive dialogue. The rivals kept interrupting each other and instead of a balanced discussion they chose the path of mutual insults.”
Channel 5, St Petersburg: “The rivals have crossed all boundaries.”
Pro-Kremlin Ren TV: “The election debate between Biden and Trump has been called America’s greatest disgrace.”
