Holy fuck I misjudged the one young white guy on the cnn panel.
He’s prolife so he wants/needs ACB to get confirmed so he can vote for Biden.
its about messaging. Bernie is way left of Hillary/Biden on climate but you are never going to hear him say “Im shutting the oil industry down” or “im putting coal miners out of their jobs”. There’s just no reason to give that soundbite to the media regardless of whether it’s true.

Trump didn’t act like a giant piece of shit all night, that did matter. They also got the better soundbites for the next two weeks out of the debate. Initial debate polls mean jack and shit. (see 4 years ago)
I don’t know whether any of that will matter or not but I didn’t think joe did anything to help dem turnout and that was the biggest need from him tonight.
i don’t think Joe could have done anything to help dem turnout. Trump could have and he didn’t because apparently celebrating the separation of kids from their parents is commendable as long as you do it without shouting.

Hillary did win those debates in 2016 by all measurable standards. Not just polls on the debate, but also polls on vote preference after the debate, where she gained. There is no evidence supporting your theory.
Probably the fact that you check the boxes of a Trump supporter (well off, male, flyover country, distrusting of the left and academia, white?) makes you more receptive to his style and message than the average American.
