Yea that’s the only pack I’ve scored out of half a dozen or so tries. BTC price is crazy. NFT cryptopunks are crazier. Everything is a bubble. Nothing makes sense.

Is there any sort of … process, initiative, potential, to improve the usability of BTC?
Particularly since I’m fairly sure the largest bitcoin mining operations on earth that we definitely know of are in Iceland specifically because of cheap geothermal power.
If power consumption is a BTC miners largest expense I’m surprised they aren’t already using off grid solar farms to power entire operations. Seems like a good way to get a significant amount of extra value out of less than state of the art older mining equipment that is no longer efficient enough to be profitable to run on pay per unit power.
One of the paradigm shifts that needs to happen in industrial planning is that some business people need to start thinking about what production facilities would look like that had functionally unlimited access to power, but only during the day (and need to be shut down when the sun isn’t shining). Energy consumption can easily go up as long as we’re using that energy when the solar panels are producing.

It seems like this thread should be more activity with this community? So much daily information to be aggregated and filtered through - which UP has done quite well for politics, covid, TS. It would take a small army to keep up with the current pace of news/projects.
Is there another forum / discord out there that I’m missing for this? I’m relatively late to the crypto party and trying not to be a total fish.

I own some Bitcoin. Wish I got it earlier of course. Took the plunge on a cold storage device now that it’s getting to be a real amount of cash. Should get it in mail this week.

To be fair, the moment BTC caught on, and I mean back when the price was under a dollar, people were saying that the whole mining thing was going to spiral out of control. That’s why people made alternative cryptocurrencies, and a big reason why people were bearish on the price of BTC ever getting this high. I mean, let’s assume we think BTC is the greatest invention ever, why wouldn’t the next thought be, well, let’s make a better one?
It’s also why many cryptocurrencies moved away from mining (PoW) or have much less exponentially ridiculous mining protocols.
Lol I feel kinda bad that I haven’t kept up on this thread as much. I’m surprised more people haven’t been active considering the obsession with the NBA baseball cards. It’s a similar game.
One reason I haven’t been posting is because I have a whole crazy story I want to write up about this,
but haven’t found the motivation yet.
