i just went back and looked at some of my initial coinbase purchases from 2017. somebody end me now.
looks like you tried to cancel a 1.1 btc purchase and was unsuccessful.
hold on calling Coinbase support right nowâŚ
Back in 2018 I was betting obviously fish shit on the World Cup but just wanted action. Like betting the underdog to win exactly 2-1 for huge odds or parlaying some dogs. Binked a couple of those and ran my initial 500 stake to like 20k and then they immediately back me off. So I took my (lack of) talents to BetOnline and lost back like 80% of it. Weird that Bovada gives the banhammer so fast.
We didnât even clip them for 5k, but they definitely didnât love how it was happening. They also froze the account and threatened to steal the money and grilled the shit out of the person whoâs name was on the account before granting the huge favor of cashing out.
I forgot what I did to get limited on bovada but yes donât do that. Stick to politics.
almost 100k btc
I do remember at one point buying one at 200 and bailing out at 250 cause the market was going back down it did, then stonked then went back under that the next year but oof That was 2012, do not want to look at transactions back then, lol me for not playing everything on seals with clubs back then turned into high stakes poker with small/micro stakes donks. or when I first heard of it believing it was the future, then realizing itâs stupid (still is) but not realizing that some tech bros could get absurdly rich so theyâd push it.
I told this before, but a long time ago, I was writing an article about this crazy new poker room that only used bitcoin. It sounded interesting and I told my wife that I was thinking about buying some bitcoin for kicks. It was at about $0.10 and I was thinking of maybe buying as much as $1,000 worth.
She shot the idea down because I had lost money on an online gambling/poker stock that had gone busto and she didnât want me doing that again.
Sigh.
One of you made me feel better, though, reminding me that thereâs almost no way I wouldâve held it. Probably wouldâve sold after it hit $0.20 or something.
I still have never owned any crypto (itâs all a bunch of bullshit based on nothing imo), but I do still have a few worthless NBA Topshot âmomentsâ.
Yeah all these âWhat could have beenâ ideas are based around the idea that you wouldnt have sold at any point prior to this moment which is an absurdity. You would have sold at a $1, or $10, or $100, but never held to this point.
I know people say it and yet i have like 1000 top shot moments and some monkey. Theres literally 0% id sell all of my btc if i had any.
Iâd like to think that if I had put some modest amount of $$ into BTC before it 1000xâd, that I wouldnât have sold all of it by now, but would have taken some amount off the table as it ran up. But you really donât know unless youâre actually in that situation.
I reverse cramered a long ass time ago at about the valley at 16k. Iâm thinking of getting out finally, itâs outperformed the rest of my entire portfolio combined and it was just a flyer bet
I only got .8 but I said Iâd sell at 100k 7 years ago. Well shit, I donât want to figure out how to pay tax on that. 1m or bust baby. Still going to end up with zero, but what can you do.
I have about the same as you and id pay money out of pocket for it to go to zero. Like i would legit give up half my net value just to spite the brian rasts of the world
Just wait for Trump to make crypto gainz tax free. Ez game.
So i dont know alot about this stuff but have a few ETH. Historically speaking it seemed it went up (or down) at a similar rate to BTC. Lately not so much, ETH not doing so hot. Any insights?
