Theoretically, to pay vendors whose bills aren’t due yet (lol at them for not getting paid in advance), and expenses that the campaign accrues in the future (lawyers for court challenges, the accountants who prepare financial documents that still need to be filed with the FEC, etc).
There are also some rules that allow the funds to be contributed to other campaigns under certain circumstances.
