For sure if the checks went out. Pelosi would have sabotaged it though and I don’t think enough people were paying enough attention to what she was doing.
Not PA, not MI, not NV, but that’s still less than 270 iirc, AZ/GA/WI very close; I’d still say he probably loses, but I haven’t sought out any exit poll data on late deciders. I’d guess that not coming off like a complete psycho in debate 1 and showing more than the nut low amount of empathy would have done more for him than delivering stimulus.

True, and it’s not close. He would have tried to get his name on the checks, if he failed he would have sent everyone a letter saying “You’re welcome for the Trump Bucks! Vote for me if you want more!”

True. But the conclusion is Moscow Mitch is happier with Biden than Trump.
Few things are worth “at least a couple of points” in the modern era. I doubt a second round of checks would have been one of them. The largest state shifts this election versus 2016 were mid single digits, and a hell of a lot has happened since then.
At this point, over 80% of the vote is locked in by basically immovable partisans. So when you say something shifts the electorate by at least 2 points, you’re really saying that it shifts the group of persuadable voters by something like 15+ points. It’s a tall order.
That said, Trump only needed 269 to “win,” and he would have had it with just a 0.7 bump. So yeah, a decent chance he would have “won,” but probably not with 270+, and he still would have lost the popular vote by millions.

The White House had nothing to do with these negotiations and never were really involved. Trump did not have an actual mechanism for forcing the Republican senate to play ball.
