I wonder, like a few months after he’s gone, if Trump isn’t going to start going after Mitch and senate republicans for preventing all the great plans he had, like infrastructure, the wall, replacing Obamacare, and reducing drug prices. His post-presidency reviews on Fox and elsewhere will be worse than Bush, people will be tired of him, and he’ll be criticized for not doing more. I could see him lashing out at congressional republicans for preventing him from getting any wins on all the important and popular thigns he had planned, which allowed dems to steal the election. I expect hat the post-Trump era will not be particularly favorable for republicans.

Holy moly, I never cease to be amazed by how dumb they are.

Who was the daughter of the Trump felon who used a walking stick?

nah, he gave billionaires a huge tax cut, he will be forever lionized

Only four states. Maybe we should look into Florida and some of the other states too.

I thought this was an interesting post which kinda helped me understand the Trump love a LITTLE more, if you come at it from their perspective. Obviously he/they are racist, but the majority of them don’t think he/they are.

Firstly, you have people who supported him for him talking about outsourcing. Outsourcing has left a fair amount of towns without a financial future. The people living there can’t go work at the well paying factory because it disappeared years ago. They work at gas stations, Walmart, generally not “lifelong” jobs, but it’s what they have to support families. Getting out is hard. They need to take welfare to get by, and these are people who want a better life, not a subsistence life. In this case, decades of Democrats and Republicans ignoring their plight led to them jumping to support a candidate like Trump because he said “hey, it’s a problem”. Add in a healthy dose of “the Dems are just trying to get you hooked on socialism so you’ll always vote for them and be beholden to them”, and you get toxic supporters. But, at the core, their plight is finally being acknowledged.

Next, illegal immigration is a huge issue for some people. Trump actually took a hard line stance on it, and wouldn’t back down. He wasn’t afraid to be called a racist for it, and he really was saying “ILLEGAL immigration is the problem”, and media twisted it to “HE HATES IMMIGRANTS”. Which segues into my next point.

The media has done a bang up job of demonizing Trump at every opportunity, even when it’s really not a story. “Trump eats his steak… WELL DONE?!” Or the shark fin soup story. Or just misrepresenting what he says like with the immigration issue. Then, Trump, whose a political outsider (which people liked), says “the media wants to shut me up because I don’t take their shit” and says “fake news”, suddenly, him ignoring headlines? That’s a power move. His supporters, and I’ve heard this to my face, say “the media LIES about him, all the time. Why should I believe the bad thing they say?”

Trump didn’t even have to work to demonize the press. The press did it themselves by putting his orange face up every waking minute of everyday. By obsessing over him and trying to make him look worse than he already did. By making non issues an issue. Yes, eating well done steak is heresy. It doesn’t have anything to do with politics though, why is it being treated as political journalism?

They love Trump because he paid lip service to long ignored issues, didn’t back down despite all the hate he got, and he was able to flip the script on the press to ensure that his supporters would gladly ignore any bad thing he did because it’s fake news.

Add in Democrat voters acting like assholes, constantly belittling them, not making an effort to listen to them, and generally just not being adults, you have a perfect recipe for fanatical supporters. Shit, not too long ago, I saw a comment saying “oh, they’re uneducated, lower class people who don’t know any better” when talking about Republicans in general. It’s disgusting behavior that leads to people wanting to be contrarian. “Voting for Trump to own the libs” yadda yadda

Ah, the well known “well done steak” issue, lol. That’s just Twitter bullshit that you can find similar stuff about any well known politician.

Like I agree about him tapping into deep frustrations about immigration and trade, but the rest of it is just making excuses for bad behavior.

Like sure he said illegal immigration but then he did everything he could to restrict legal immigration just as his critics predicted… hmmm, makes you think.

Like I said, it’s from their perspective. From their prospective they believe all of that is true, and Trump stood up to the media and liberals.

I don’t know I’m deeply fascinated by the psychology of how this happened, and thats the best explanation I’ve heard so far.
