Yes.

Good price. Good beer. Enjoy!

I love a hazy more than the next person but nothing is better than a well done lager. Treehouse killed it with this one.

August 11 last post? Da fuk?

On Saturday after Ween one of my friends knew about or got us invited to a soft opening or reservations for us at this place. This drink off their menu might my favorite drink ever.

Negroni’s are still the top 5 cocktails of all time.

Funnily enough, we were at a similar place last night. Went out to Golden for a little date night and I discovered this distillery + speakeasy-style cocktail bar. Their liqueurs are really good and the cocktails are very nice. The Kümmel and the Ex Gratia Génépi in particular are great liqueurs and full of flavor.

I did shots of a bottle of Tanqueray until it was gone with 2 other people my senior year of hs and still to this day can’t touch any gin drink. Deep Woods Off

I haven’t really been drinking that much over the last several months, so I haven’t had much to post about here. But tonight I felt like having a couple of Revolution beers. The first was fine/good - it was from one of their mixed IPA packs, which I really like - it’s interesting to sample different how much different hop varieties change their basic IPA. Tonight was Cashmere (“A mountain of flavors rise above this silky, Cashmere-hopped IPA-lemon, lime, and ripe cantaloupe with a touch of grapefruit.”)

The second was a stout. I really haven’t had a taste for big barrel-aged stouts for a long time, but something made me want to try again even though it’s 90 degrees outside.

I mean, it’s a terrible idea to open this at 10:30pm. And I’m not sure I’ll finish it. But five minutes in, this thing is a goddamned banger.

I usually have a hard time with cherry anything in beers. I assume it’s subtle in that one?

That’s an interesting question. I don’t think I’d call it subtle - it’s definitely noticeable. But, given it’s 30 minutes later and I killed the whole thing with zero effort, my main conclusion is that it’s awesome.

It reminded me a little bit of maraschino cherries. If you’re ok with the kind that you can buy in a jar for like $2 (like I am), you would definitely be fine with this. But if the idea of cheap maraschino cherries sounds terrible to you, I think you might be turned off.

Got Beer? A Systematic Review of Beer and Exercise

Haven’t had a chance to read through this yet but the conclusion seems relevant to any exercisers here.

Conclusion

In general, low-alcohol beer seems to be more efficacious when individuals are looking to quickly rehydrate postexercise. Adding Na+ to alcoholic beer may improve its rehydration properties, but there may be tradeoffs related to palatability. These conclusions are largely based on studies that standardized beverage volume, and the results may not apply to situations where people ingest fluids and food in an ad libitum fashion. When choosing a beer higher in alcoholic content postexercise (>4%), it is wise to pair it with nonalcoholic rehydration options to mitigate alcohol-induced diuresis, particularly when exercise-induced fluid losses are large. Nonalcoholic, polyphenol-rich beer has been observed to provide respiratory protection following a marathon, suggesting it could be a strategy for preventing respiratory infections during heavy training. Chronic changes in body composition, as well as muscle performance, adaptation, and recovery, seem largely unaffected by moderate beer consumption.

Congrats

I had a Sparkling Shiraz for the first time last night and was blown away. Really enjoyed the style.

My treehouse haul is dwindling. Amazing milk stout!
