holy shit. Too shitty to heart.
I’m following a thread on a wine forum and a lot of people in the area (including vineyard owners and wine makers and others in the local industry) are participating. It’s really terrible.
especially since the area is still recovering from 2017
I really regret not doing some tours when I was there for Dead 50 year reunion in 2015. I just couldn’t fit it in. Fucking work schedules.
OMG that is a big time restaurant! Never been myself but have had friends who have been rave about it. Seeing the winery’s is brutal too.
If you ever feel like picking some up for a random guy on an obscure politics forum, let me know.

Albertson’s happened to have this when I went today, so I bought it. Feel bad for them and I get a new wine to try that may never be made again.
here’s a decent list with details
I only buy from one winery in the immediate area, a tiny 1 acre place called EMH Vineyards near Pickett Road, which apparently is ok so far. The owner is in Boston right now, but she posted that somebody went out to check on her house and property and everything was untouched, although the fires had gotten pretty close. She is still not out of the woods though if the winds change direction again.
yeah, there are like 60+ wineries in that region…not a lot of info right now since so many evacuated.
My friend messaged to stick to the old school Napa vineyards that are proven and age well and avoid the newer ones that overripen inferior grapes and overcharge.

New article from the brewing session I mentioned.
noDoxx, but I’m pictured =)
Things that cannot be done…
-
drinking 12 bottles of champagne
-
having only 2 bottles of Duvel
I’ve always wanted to try Julius.
I have a friend who just got back from out east and he brought me two cans of Heady Topper. Looking forward to trying that.
I’m starting to find the inevitable early morning need to piss that comes with age and a love of beer extremely annoying.
Considering moving from my beloved bottled Old Speckled Hen, a lovely balanced real ale, 5%
to Duvel that I’m sure beer lovers are all familiar with, 8.5%
so I don’t have to drink so much of it.
I should go grab some Duvel. It’s been too long.
