The beer, wine, and spirits thread

I know what you mean. My wife always encourages my wine habit and indulges herself, but she would likely shit her pants if she knew how much I spent on wine each of the last two years.

My buddy rents space for his collection(investment) at a wine storage facility. I think it’s paid off for him because the wine connoisseurs that are renting the really big spaces there will crack open some really expensive bottles with him on occasion.

Yeah I rent space in a wine storage facility as well. But sadly the only expensive bottles I’ve been cracking I had to pay for myself!

Having access to Modern Times is a blessing. It’s 5 o’clock somewhere, and by somewhere, I mean here.

Drinking Modern Times, watching NBA while making Ragu for the wife and kid when they come back from the real world stuff. Those rare occasions where being an expat gambler feels alirght.

I’ve never tried any of these. Shortly, I will have had all of them.

Wrench is really good… Industrial Arts doesn’t make any bad beers. Their double (Torque Wrench) is insane too but a little harder to find.

Cmon guys what’s with the grocery store modern times beer at least find a limited release.

Not a fan of this beer though it’s not bitter enough and the body is too thin for me.

Ah and I can’t take pictures I cut off the bottom it’s some weird San Antonio / San Diego collab, ya I dunno.

Yeah I got a nice round of beers last week that were all well under 4% ABV. Nice to have a beer in the yard on Saturday without needing an afternoon nap.

I embarrassingly got a Trappist monk brewing beer question horrribly wrong during our weekly zoom quiz last weekend.
Got an unexpected Amazon delivery today. My brother appears to be trolling me through beer

Love me some trappist beer, though your brother’s stiffed you with not including the Rochefort 10.

I just heard of a beer emergency. I’ve done quite a bit of work with some company so just got copied in on a mail about a server room air con failure. It’s been out for a day, but they’ve managed to stabilise temperatures around 25C (~77F) and will struggle on till a fix.

More importantly, (though as an afterthought to the mail,) it alerted an employee that they might want to move their beer. I know the guy involved and so I know that he had lots (about 100) of new IPAs there he wanted to keep cool for a month or so, but that now he’s on holiday. So instead it will all sit there in the warmth for a few weeks :frowning:

(I might have cared enough to go move them for him if I didn’t live in a different country to the unfolding tragedy.)

interesting mix of witbier and sour. Fairly aggressive but i liked it

A bit of a shout out to my local place, where a growler of delicious 11% barrel-aged barleywine is only $15 and you get a free beer while it’s filled.

Sounds like a hell of a deal.

P.S. You’re doxxing yourself a bit with the image link from Google, might want to edit?

Thanks. Didn’t realize that. You are a very sensible and considerate person.

I haven’t been there for a while, but Georgetown Brewing in SODO sells growlers for $8-10 and offer unlimited tastings (not during pandemics though). Their cheap growlers and kegs keep me from committing to brewing myself. They periodically ask me to pay for the growler, but I always say “thanks, I’ll just borrow it” and they never make me pay.
