What is fatwa?
Strict definition is a legal directive issued by an Islamic leader. More commonly, though, it’s an edict to one’s followers to kill someone (think Salman Rushdie in the 80s).
Thanks, I googled it and got the first definition so I was kinda confused
“Where did this take place?”
“Fuck if I know, thats your job to figure out.”
any healthcare provider who collaborates with this shit, e.g. reporting people they “think” “might” be “interested” in terminating a pregnancy, should have their license revoked
Easy to say with nothing at risk yourself
Also this post is just dumb. The state that requires the report does the medical licensing
nobody forced you to become a doctor
jesus do we need to explain what a fucking normative statement is every two weeks
Oh I’m sorry if you could make it more clear when you’re being completely ignorant and when you’re wishcasting I would really appreciate it. Thank you.
dictionaries exist, bro
This seems like a situation where they’re in a very difficult spot: do the honorable thing, and end up with severe consequences. It’s not fair. It’s especially not fair because I’m sure many of them did not sign up for this kind of “requirement”.
The states where this kind of Stasi regime is in place need to change their laws.
Pvn the word you used was understood. That’s the wishcasting part. If you could make it more clear when your statement is avoiding reality it would really help everyone
Aside from whether this is the situation that was being discussed, reporting someone to the police for seeking an abortion is heinous.
“I understood it but I’m going to pretend not to because something something” ok bro
“I totally knew my statement was completely unworkable so I’ll just say it was normative” ok bro
yes that is literally what happened
that is literally why the word “should” was in there
