The caller, who identified himself only as Rick, from Lorain, Ohio, told the station that he decided-- in part-- to change his vote because of the way Republicans embraced the word “God.”

“The people on the Democratic side, at their convention — acted like they were pushing God right out of it. And that had a lot to do with changing my mind,” he said.

What did the DNC possibly do to push God right out of it…?

Conservative news outlets like the Washington Examiner have pointed out that, during the livestreamed Muslim Delegates Assembly on Aug. 18, one participant omitted “under God” from the Pledge. A delegate at an Aug. 18 LGBTQ Caucus meeting also abstained from saying it.

yea trump tweeted about this the other day, claiming that the convention removed it, lol

Scott warned that if a Biden-Harris ticket is successful, they will “turn our country into a socialist utopia.”

Man I just wish that the GOP’s worst fears were true. Imagine if Dems were even TRYING to turn America into a socialist utopia, let alone a guarantee that it will happen.

Gonna take a wild guess a lot more Democrats were watching the RNC than Republicans were watching the DNC…

HUGE IF TRUE!

I couldn’t do it last night, and I can’t do it tonight either (UFC is on, insert Dana White joke here). Tomorrow is the only night I can watch and you know what? I think I’m just gonna enjoy my ignorance of this year’s RNC.

I’m out for tonight. I’m usually able to find humor in the madness but I just can’t anymore. Seeing the Parkland dad and the machine gun waving racist assholes completely broke my spirit. It is absolutely horrifying what is going on in this country. We are surrounded by monsters.

I was actually being generous. When I checked all the data, maybe 2 years ago, white people commit more crimes than black people when you adjust for income. But it’s all statistically insignificant variance anyway once you adjust for income.

As for inviting them to refute it, I always point out that it’s from the official FBI data, so to try to disprove it is to not believe the highest level of federal law enforcement in America. Given that these types are generally pretty adamant blanket defenders of law enforcement, that usually suffices. I guess in the current climate where Trump has just totally attacked the credibility of all institutions, it may not.

Sure, but they won’t know/care, they think they’re just stating facts. Like it may make them uncomfortable to say it out loud, but a lot of them genuinely believe that black people are predisposed to commit crimes because of their DNA. Obviously that’s as racist as it gets, hence their discomfort, but their idea of racism has more to do with whether or not they have malice in their heart towards “the good ones” than whether or not they have wholly generalized negative beliefs toward an entire race.

Keep in mind these people mostly love Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, Will Smith, Patrick Mahomes, Herman Cain, etc. They’re the types that will first assume black people are bad/dangerous, then cautiously proceed and make a judgement - they’ll fly off the deep end at the first sign of anything remotely resembling the stereotypical behavior they don’t like or are afraid of. For example, if black neighbors move in, it’ll be, “There goes the neighborhood!” Then a few months later if they’ve actually spoken to them and talked to them, it’ll be, “Wow, they’re SO well spoken and polite! See? I’m not racist! I like these black people!”

So I think disproving that underlying belief that various races are predisposed to crime is an important early step in the discussion unfortunately. This says more about the state of affairs in this country and with humanity, and how much work is left to be done in this area than it does about like the optimal way to address this stuff eventually.

Do you really need to ask?

Don’t they just compile data from local PDs?

My father usually tries to tune in for the president and VP speeches in both conventions, at least, and a few minutes here and there. He’s historically a right-leaning moderate. I’m pretty sure he voted GOP in every presidential election from '68 to '04, he voted Obama in '08 (for healthcare because it affected me), I’m pretty sure he changed his mind last minute to Romney in '12 (I told him they’d repeal the ACA if they won, he decided he didn’t think they would lol), no presidential vote in '16.

He’s not watching one minute of either convention this year. His reasoning? His mind is completely 100% made up that he’s voting for Biden come hell or high water, so there’s no point in wasting his time watching.

Anyway, I have a feeling that dynamic is at play for a lot of people.

Yeah I think so, which should further strengthen the point if any conservatives are doubting the DEEP STATE FBI… It’s literally the people they worship most in this country producing this data that says, when adjusted for income crime levels are basically even across races.

The Trump Cult just gets crazier and crazier.

My mom asked me if I watched the RNC and I said yeah all the speakers were angry and didn’t have much content. She said she’s disgusted with me and can’t believe that I would see such inspirational speeches and think that; however, the DNC was all lies and bashing Trump and promoting MEGA LIBERAL Kamala’s socialist agenda she can’t deliver on. And Trump has done everything he said and much much more.

This shit breaks my brain. How is FNC so good at hacking non-college whites’ brains?

Have you told her that you like Kamala’s socialist agenda?
