What’s the history here? Is there a reason we’re cheering on a water shortage?
Texas claims to be the bastion of red states. A shining light on the hill, that Californians flock to in droves because Cali is such a poorly run state.
They also have the worst utilities grids in the country, and every summer and winter there you have a chance to die of frosbite or heat stroke.
Basically, more right wing hypocrites getting commupance.

Gotcha. Places like Odessa (sitting in the middle of the west Texas desert) are probably kind of screwed with global warming anyway. That area is nothing but highways, desert, and oil wells.
Odessa will survive. We need fossil fuel more than ever to power the air conditioners in places like Odessa.

Odessa is also a pretty red city, so it’s good when the effects of global warming hit hard in red states/cities.

There are some wind farms in the area. Shit grid and no storage make it impractical but Texas could theoretically satisfy the electricity demand of the entire US using wind. In practice, 21% of Texas’ electricity comes from wind.
