104 in Huntsville would really suck. I’ve been there. There used to be a dive restaurant with really good catfish. The state prison where they execute people is there. All things considered, not high on my list of places to revisit.

When I was job hunting there was constantly a job listing offering some ungodly hourly rate to work in Huntsville. Never got taken as far as I could tell. I knew a trap when I saw one.

Hope Ted’s daughter is OK. Hope he learns something.
Guaranteed his takeaway will be “the liberal teachers and Hollywood are hurting our kids mental well being” or something like that. I hope she is ok, gets the help she needs, and can get away from him eventually.
The fact he hasnt said anything yet I take as at least a semi-positive sign

Jesus - I hadn’t considered this. It’s Ted Cruz, you’re absolutely right. Sweet Summer Child to think he won’t at least try to leverage a child’s suicide attempt.
He doesn’t actually think any of this stuff he’s just a completely shameless man. I don’t think he has any sincerely held beliefs. I will say from direct experience having such people as parents really messes people up.

I thought about putting in that disclaimer. But then I thought, what about Cruz? Are we sure he isn’t?
Cruz is more calculating. If he has to put on a show of overt or implied racism to get what he wants, he’ll do that. If he has to put on a show of benign “you’re the one bringing racism into this” faux objectivity then he’ll do that. Trump’s sincere stupidity, racism, misogyny, etc., are all major political strengths because he sells them as sincerity. People like a sincere asshole more than a shifty asshole.
