Tennis anyone?

No idea what happened to Novak. I mean he was kind of a dick early in his career but showed some charisma later on and appeared to mature. Now he’s back to being a dick.

never in doubt

Greek dude was clearly done midway thru the 3rd

Novak goat even if he retired today. I think he ends up with 23+ slams.

Never thought Djoker would have the inside track for the Slams record going into the year, but here we are.

He’s always been a dick. He just got a PR team.

I had +400 on Novak pre tournament. Never a doubt.

Tsitsipas: “He left the court down 2-0 and came back as a totally different player so I dunno.”

Like obviously he does know but no one is allowed to say shit while they milk this cash cow. Cheating motherfuckers were super gluing baseballs to their hands creating impossible spin rates with Spider Tack which was “unfounded” speculation until six days ago when we learned that actually everyone in baseball was aware that it’s been happening for years.

I’ve always thought Federer’s a bit of a dick as well, what with the emblazoned jacket at the Wimbledon final and not really giving credit to his opponents when they beat him.

Whats thd implication here? Djokavic has done super drug he can take if he’s down 2-0?

Rafa and Fed are basically drawing dead to a Monica Seles situation.

I imagine stimulants if you listen to his entire quote here:

Was Tsitsipas hurt at some point? I only started watching at the end of the third and I did catch a bit of the trainer stretching him out or something after the 3rd set.

LOL

They must test?

I’ve seen him so it without a lockeroom break. I’d guess on the trusting side that he mentally figures something out, a small weakness to exploit.

I don’t see why that’s compelling. Lance Armstrong never tested positive. These dudes obviously aren’t just loading up on stuff that will easily show up on whatever assays they’re using. The tennis aging curves are completely impossible just like the baseball ones, and I am definitely not giving the guy who attributed his meteoric rise to a quack “doctor” discovering a gluten sensitivity through a confidence trick any benefit of the doubt.

Watching peak Federer and Nadal go at it 10 years ago I assumed they must be doping or something.

In the older days getting winded and exhausted was actually a thing in tennis. Federer and Nadal are sprinting cross court and ripping winners in a 5th-set tiebreaker and don’t even look that wiped out after the game.

Tsitsipas was definitely getting fatigued. Those desperate drop shots in the 4th and 5th were a pretty clear indication of that.

Of the big three, I feel like I’ve seen Fed and Vak look tired rarely. But never Rafa. But all three are cyborgs and if it is discovered they’re doping, I wouldn’t be that surprised.

Fine fine Novak goat doper

Meh. Just did a little basic googling. No specific rumors but lots of speculation. Apparently he has generally supported accused dopers. He supposedly had a slump and looked less physical after Sharapova got busted. Baseball argument. Supernatural aging is unnatural aging (Bonds, Clemens).

I’m not trying to single out Djokovic. I think the entire sport is probably corrupt like cycling and baseball because the aging curves are completely unbelievable. In the Sampras era, around 5 of the top 100 players were over 30. Recently it was as high as 42. They aren’t just aging but dominating as 34±year-olds running their 22-year-old competition ragged as the game becomes more physically demanding. Women too.

The most surprising thing would be the sport ratting itself out. I just don’t see it happening without an igniting event like a player dying or a whistle blower dropping documents. It will probably be circumstantial until that happens.

Djokovic claims that his big turnaround occurred when a doctor (a certified crazo) diagnosed his gluten intolerance–not allergy–while watching on TV. This doctor later demonstrated the effect by holding a piece of bread against Novak’s stomach while pulling down on his arm to show loss of strength. Novak tells it himself here:

It’s one of the oldest confidence tricks in existence and commonly used by mall kiosk hucksters selling ion bracelets. Sure that’s crazy, but maybe this sounds convincing:

Dr. Cetojevic then explained to me that there were other, more scientific and more accurate ways of testing my sensitivities to certain foods. The best and most accurate is the ELISA test, which stands for enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.

When my blood test returned, the results were shocking: I was strongly intolerant to wheat and dairy, and had a mild sensitivity to tomatoes as well.

Again he’s talking about sensitivities and intolerances here, not allergies, so I presume tests for IgG. It’s just more quackery. See this paper:

However, the production of IgG antibodies to foods is a normal immunologic phenomenon. IgG antibodies to foods are found in virtually all healthy individuals. In fact, contrary to the notion that the development of IgG or IgG4 antibodies could lead to food intolerance, the development of such antibodies has specifically been linked to the development of food desensitization or tolerance.
