Bad news bears continues. 3 doubles lost first set 6-0 and then came back! We lost the other four courts. My partner struggled mightily serving.
Tomorrow is a makeup match and looks like we have to default 2 singles. Sigh. I was hoping to play 2 singles on grass instead I’ll be a lamb for the slaughter at 1 doubles.
Sigh. Two days. Two different doubles partners. Both double faulted their first service points. None of the four balls made it to the net in the air.
Yes I said it. Four total shanks.
Needless to say not a harbinger for success. I played pretty well today.

I think it was tainted by a few bad errors (by both players – Nadal volley sticks out the most). I’m still sure it’s way up there, though.
Well we came close in our last beat chance to get a W this season. 1 singles won easily, I got 2 singles 7-6, 7-6! but 1 doubles got squeezed 5-7, 6-7. They had a service game to win the second set but the other team upped their net game, forced the tie-break and then dominated.
One more next week but I’m out of town and I’m thinking based on early responses we will be short at least one court of players. Plus they smoked us earlier in the season.

I missed the final. There have been quite a few players in the past couple of years having success at an older age. Not Slams, but good to see.
