Pointing out my own prescience.
Victorian Government just introduced a 50% attendance cap, but sessions already sold beyond 50% will be honoured. Er, OK?
Any updates?
Still no, and the draw is in half an hour.
I have to withdraw this, btw, because the German security agency wrote this:
On HackerNews someone gave a plausible explanation for the timestamps: They are regenerated when you download the PDF with the result.
I was like “plausible explanation” for the timestamps which otherwise match up super well with the record numbers, whatever, who cares. But I eventually followed the link, and by “plausible explanation” they mean that someone in Serbia actually demonstrated that this is definitely the case. The record numbers are still very suspicious, but alternative explanations are in play now.
lol
It’s a big mystery. We have NO CLUE why.
They lost the pencil
This is bullshit, they should have done the draw and then if they deport the Novax, fill his spot with a lucky loser. That way the lucky loser gets the #1 seed draw through the whole tournament. Lucky indeed.
Yeah but delaying the draw means Novax is done, he’s not playing this year.
So they delayed it for no reason it seems.
Thanks for being our man down under. You get us the info faster than the media outlets.
@anon10396289 that would be hilarious to put a losing qualifier in his no 1 slot. Oh the complaints.
Novax draws the 126th guy in the world according to a tennis elo site. A lucky loser would probably still be a dog against that guy but could win for sure.
But then he gets the 27th best guy in the world in the second round, ouch. Tommy Paul.
Damn Kyrgios has to play Medvedev in the second round? That sucks!
Got my bags packed, waiting for the call.
(Was en fuego yesterday, so what if my rating is 1/2 of a pro’s).
They should give Novax’s spot to Pat Rafter. Everyone loves Rafter. He’s so dreamy!
If Djokovic were to be kicked out at this stage, the draw would have to be reconfigured. According to Grand Slam rules, the No. 5 seed, Andrey Rublev, would move into Djokovic’s vacant slot in the draw. But if Djokovic’s withdrawal were to come after the order of play for opening day has been released, he would be replaced by a so-called lucky loser: a player who had lost in the qualifying tournament and then been drawn by lot to receive a newly open spot.
OK so if they’re going to kick Novax out it needs to be after the order of play is announced, otherwise Novax’s spot goes to Rublev.
Djokovic verdict is in!
Wow, you scooped my google news feed!
