ebay doesn’t agree with you on base pokemon at least. I knew about the holo charizard, but only maybe a dozen are 20+
That’s already happened for like 5 years. People spend a shit ton on fifa and nba ultimate team, the best players get thousands watching them open packs. Then their shit is worthless when the next edition comes out.
@wheatrich, having the set is super valuable though which is where the value in the lower ones comes
I had dual land MTG cards at one point, those were OP
sold them before the boom market tho whoops
The Dame I have apparently went from $8 to $68 in a day. Wild.
It may feel like you are early but this thing is super new. It’s like thinking you’re too late to Bitcoin when it went from $1 to $10
I’ve still got one dual land hanging around, but man I used to have a ton…
I remember having to rescue one from the trash that my mom tried to throw away
It’s still pretty hard to grind coins though, you get a gigantic edge in ultimate team by spending money. You’re right that you can’t cash out, but for those 18+ that makes it kind of even worse?
You posted an article written by Bales. I assumed that was because you wanted people to read the article and the theories he was pitching? I pointed out that his ideas are alternative investing rehashes that have been written ad nauseam, but also that I don’t think he actually believes any of it. He wants to park money in crypto gifs to get out of the dollar yet 83% of his rare collection is currently for sale in the Top Shot marketplace. You already figured out that the correct play is doing the exact opposite of what he’s proposing in that article.
When I moved in with my gf she asked why I had like 8 copies of FIFA and I had to explain how every year was slightly different. But, it’s a real grind and it’s not been a better experience of late imo. This is so quick and easy and so much less of a time suck.
Video games seem really apprehensive about “gambling” aspects that involve real money and nudity still.
sorry i should have been more clear. that article was something i saw a month ago and posted then, starting this entire thread. it was more of a reference to how big this shit got since.
I think the new value strategy is to find low serial # cards that are priced only a small amount above min. A lot of work to sift through all of that though.
i really don’t believe that will be a thing
I’ve kind of been doing that already tbh.
i mean i don’t think #1014 would be worth more than #8784.
I’ve been paying a bit more though for them depending on prices. Or looking for them at the current price at the very least.
Right now it is. Long term, you might be right.
They most definitely are right now.
Also when you sort by price low-high, it auto sorts by serial #. So there’s even some minimal value just on the way the system puts your card at the top if it is lower serial than a same-priced card
I saw some blog post about not having number 0 and 00 and I kind of agree tbh.
We’re over $1k on this 5 moment portfolio now.
