Take Me Out To The Blockchain - Digital Sports Collectibles

think casuals just bought the cheapest card of the best player on their team. Those rocketed more than the rest but everyone with money came in and bought a lot of things.

He literally said this shit is the alternative investment park of the future because meow the dollar is weak. He’s telling people to hold NFT bags. Of course he fucking is because he’s going to sell them to you before they crash next year.

Who cares? You have a year to make a fortune. You want to point out how fucked up late stage capitalism is? No one disagrees here i imagine.

This isn’t due to late stage capitalism, shit like this has happened a ton of times over human lifetimes.

The joke ended up being kinda important :(

Probably needed the time to go buy all the cards up since they knew they were gonna LE everything

So the 12000 LEs are basically fucked, most of those players were kind of shit.

Don’t get how my Kawhi or Embiid went from $9 to $120.

they should release like 25k packs soon that will basically be filled with LE 2nd series. I’m just going to buy everything i can during the dip and hope this goes back up. if there is no dip i will just remain sad so no real difference here.

you will when you see the line for the next pack release

Depends how much notice they give. Last time it was like 10 minutes and 25k packs I got one easily. The time when they gave like 6 hours notice I was SOL. I’ve missed a pack most times, if I had gotten one every time I queued I’d be in nice shape.

beanie babies wasn’t that long ago either

this is a little better than those are but nobody is gonna buy a common of one of these guys I’d have to google now in ten years.

Yeah, the crap LEs all had gone up 2-3x before the announcement about making more LEs (I think people were buying them and speculating that they might be part of a new CC challenge). Since they announced everything will be going LE, they’ve stagnated/slightly dropped.

I thought I was clever buying them when I would have made so much more buying literally anything else.

Counterpoint: base set of pokemon/yugioh cards were like 15-20 years ago and even the mediocre ones from there are worth a ton.

can’t you play a game with those or something and thus can actually use said cards

they will have series 3/4/5/6 etc out and the market will be full of different cards of the same players. the only question is how much people would value a Kawhi series 2 15k LE vs a series 5.

Kind of? Like there is no playability of any super old MTG/pokemon/ygo cards and by using them like that you’re more risking them losing value by getting a crease or something.

That’s why HODLers do best. Ya know like those people in that study who died and their account outperformed. Over time stonks go up.
