My 30 moment Ayton common position I took yesterday is up about 65% and it’s still only at $12. Lfg.
I think it’s as simple as mpj being a young stud while the other two are washed olds
$80 for that MPJ lol, I sold mine for $16 after opening the pack
This is clearly happening…but I’d bet on two more pack drops before the challenge so it’s a bit futile imo.
When we think of rarity we think back to Pokémon or magic or whatever where there is one “rare” card per pack and a bunch of commons. For top shot, they can only do one rarity per pack. So rarity is just how the highlight/box looks not the rarity or quantity.
MPJ has been rising recently (in basketball production) while TJ plays from the bench and Bledsoe continues to decline. However, I think all of that is basically meaningless except for in the short term. One of my most vivid memories of baseball cards is watching a grown-ass man pull a 1991 Upper Deck Jeff Bagwell rookie. I had no idea who Jeff Bagwell was at the time, but several seasoned dealers and collectors explained to me just how good this guy was going to be.
They mostly used that same metric to price cards during the junk wax bubble: player quality. Any Frank Thomas you pulled was a pretty good card that paid for your pack because Frank Thomas was good at baseball, same as Scottie Pippen and Joe Montana. I think it’s a distinct and fundamental mistake that happens exactly when everyone’s brain is melting from bubble fever. Player quality matters, but it matters as an interaction term with item scarcity which is singularly more important by several orders of magnitude.
Sorry, but you’re probably not going to get rich off of Jeff Bagwell Rookie Cards. But that doesn’t mean you still can’t enjoy what’s out there.
The slugger came into the league when the hobby was in a very different place. Sure, it came at a time when baseball cards were peaking. They were everywhere. But in order to be everywhere, you need the print runs to match. And when the speculators of the era left the hobby, supply reached much further than demand.
And that’s where we stand today. Collectors can build a full run of all nine Jeff Bagwell Rookie Cards for less than it would to treat the family to a fast food lunch.
In the end, almost all of this stuff will be practically worthless. The Danuel House LE x/3,525 I just paid $30 for almost certainly won’t buy me a fast food combo meal five years from now if I hold the bags.
If they don’t convert bitcoin buys to dollars immediately then they’d have to pay out in bitcoin. However, if you’re looking for a company that could possibly fuck something like that up, these are your guys.
NEW PACK APPEARING
Forgot to say that I think the type of play matters. Dunk > most assists and blocks. Layups and jumpers are generally just terrible and I’m not buying any if they aren’t superstars. The assists, blocks, and steals often end with a dunk but the jumpers and layups never do, by definition. However, a dunk isn’t worth double so it does seem weird. I’ve hovered over the buy button on both TJ and Bledsoe and watched the prices creep up as I debated it.
nothing.
Although the packs seem to be loaded with high-value cards like LABRON 3pt
For base set they’ve largely done a few 3-5k drops during the evening them a 25k one at night the last few times
Common packs have usually been 25k releases. I think there was one 5k release, and then one day they did 25k, but in three releases (of 3k, 3k, and then 19k).
Grunch: Wen drop?
(sorry I’m slammed at work)
The EV for this $9 pack is probably gonna be like $100, lmao
Visa worked fine for me.
But what time?!
I was charged a $0.45 “international transaction fee” by my bank using the VISA debit card attached to my checking account for the $14 pack on Monday.

Does that mean NO BLEDSOE or is this list incomplete? This tiny drop is like a hot rock in the ocean imo compared to what’s coming. Bledsoe has fallen from $42 to $39 in last few hours.
