I’m on the road with pretty spotty signal most places. My phone died so got my first ever listen to Hamnitty radio for 20 excruciating minutes before an NPR station came into range. I don’t know which Wi-Fi belongs to my host. Probably not this “Tell my Wi-Fi love her” one though.

I loved that Chapelle sketch, but I had to think about it for a bit to place where it came from.
I think the only way you can pull it off now is to use the original line with Wayne Brady. And even then I wouldn’t do it on TV.
What you’re describing is the definition of eco-fascism. It has nothing to do with environmentalism. Of course he was against the Paris Accord. His solution to carbon emissions was killing carbon-emitting non-white people.

“10,000 hands” alone suggests to me that this was not in fact a tournament as poker players would recognise the term, and it’s just a journalist or sub-editor with little knowledge of poker.
10,000 hands times $1000/hr with $1 chips is like $1 million, equal to the grand prize in the annual World Series of Poker at binion’s casino in nevada.

Yeah it was a cash game, not a tournament. If anyone is interested, the computer beat 5 human professionals to the tune of 48 milli-bb/hand (stdev: 25mbb), so 4.8 bb/100. There’s a Facebook AI blog post that goes into a lot more detail here.
Dozens of people, including a 12-year-old, have been arrested after a night of escalating violence in Hong Kong that saw police fire a warning shot near protesters and use water cannon for the first time.
Police said they arrested 29 men and seven women, aged 12 to 48, for offences including unlawful assembly, possession of offensive weapons and assaulting police officers.
Sunday’s protests saw some of the fiercest clashes yet between police and demonstrators since violence escalated in mid-June over a now-suspended extradition bill that would have allowed Hong Kong people to be sent to mainland China for trial.
Police fired water cannon and volleys of tear gas in running battles with brick-throwing protesters. Six officers drew their pistols and one officer fired a warning shot into the air, police said in a statement.
