I’m not overstating it to say if it was mandatory for all people to listen to Dan Savage divorce rates would plummet, people would be infinitely more kind to each other, sexual contentment would skyrocket, misogyny would be halved and sexual bigotry would end.
I have trouble thinking of another person who’s worldview, if employed globally, would create more net human happiness.
Yeah, I don’t find sincere someone who spends half their time on the fainting couch over people being mean to billionaires and the other half attacking liberals over fringe sexual issues.
Quick question, secrecy is certainly a plus in this situation but what if the kids find out that mom and dad are fucking randos? Kids these days can be pretty astute.
Because kids want to know about their parents sex life
Have an honest, age appropriate conversation? As long as parents are unified, what’s the problem?
Edit: There is an eyeroll thing after that 1st statement
yea this pretty much i think. as long as its a loving and progressive household i dont think the kids going to be freaked about it. It would be one thing if you are doing that but then taking them to a church every week or something that rails about sexual sinners etc or something, i dunno. I’m sure in most cases its fine
Has there ever been a point in your life where you actually wanted to know these things about your own parents? Because holy shit do I absolutely not want details about my parents’ sex lives.
Kids absolutely don’t want to know about thier parents’ sex life, but also they’re like 20x more observant and smarter than you give them credit for. Like, they’re just gonna know when you’re boning someone on the side. Imagine you’re living with Lt. Columbo in your house and you’re trying to creep. ofc Columobo’s gonna know what’s up
Brag: I grew up watching Columbo made for tv movies (think I was introduced via Shatner, I just remember he had a shit ton of exercise equipment on the side of a mountain)
I thought about referencing Homicide, but I’m trying harder not to be pretentious.
NBC was behind it, I remember they had it on immediately after the SB. Robin Williams was great as the husband of a slain wife is the only other thing I remember.
I’m digging way back in my memory banks, but I think it’s canon that Columbo hates guns and there’s one episode where he has to go back and re-certify his gun training and he’s terrible at it. Basically Columobo and Serpico are the GOAT cops.
