A website is appealing to visitors to donate money to what it says is a noble cause - helping actor Stephen Baldwin.
RestoreStephenBaldwin.org claims that the actor’s 2002 conversion to evangelical Christianity hurt his career opportunities and led to him file for bankruptcy in 2009. The website hopes to bring in donations to help restore the actor to popularity so he can spread Christianity to the masses.
The site compares Baldwin to a modern-day Job, the biblical figure who lost his family and wealth but remained faithful to God.
How the fuck are they ever going to make money? They can’t make a profit on ride share, they have absolutely zero competitive advantage in self driving cars, they are burning billions and their stock is tanking.
And their losses are not building any sustainable competitive advantage. If and when they raise the price of rides, competitors will instantly undercut them. The strategy of “operate at a loss to gain market share” only works if you can subsequently raise prices. They can’t.
Unfortunately, I regularly interact with state government lobbyists. The normalized corruption is legitimately astounding. And that’s from what they talk about openly.
They’re already almost as expensive as a cab in LA - even before the tip. If that’s the best they can do and still lose money and screw the drivers - holy cow.
The employer of a married man who died while having sex on a business trip has to pay his family a large sum, a French court has ruled.
The man, known only as Xavier X, was the ‘victim of a professional accident’ while working away for TSO, a French railway construction company.
In February 2013, the engineer was working in the Loiret département in central France when he met a local woman and took her back to his hotel room to have sex.
Xavier, whose surname has not been released, was found dead in his hotel room in the Meung-Sur-Loire shortly afterwards.
The French labour authorities ruled that Xaiver’s sudden death should be classified as an ‘accident du travail’, which translates to ‘work accident’,
