Is that a Sporting Lisbon jersey?
celtic
I’m just teasing @marty. A while ago I said Celtic wasn’t really a big club on the global stage and he got offended.
No wonder… The best fans, the biggest away support and as you see above the god dam best Strips Evarrr.
Maybe they’ll make it out of the Champions League group stage one of these years.
Every 2 years nowadays…
We’ll win that Cup soon enough, its a given, after Liverpool winning again with the Scottish player Involved it won’t be long before we’re strutting around at the Final.
Ah that’s why he started his hate rant at Arsenal. It was all your fault.
It’s an interesting debate, which type of sport loyalty is better, the PG-13 American one or the cut throat rest-of-the-world type.
Like, I nearly died every week as a kid/teenager going to my team’s game. I sang song that I would never ever let my kid hear (maybe that’s worst in Israel than it is in the UK, I’m not sure). I truly hated anyone who supported the city rival. I still resent anyone that does.
Kinda starting to like the US version, where I can take my kid to games and not have to worry about scarring them forever.
What do Rangers stand for?
So, as I mentioned, I am starting to like the American version better. Even when they are right wing racist extremist, they rarely show it in the Stadium.
I don’t disagree with you, mostly because I have no real first-hand experience of the rivalry, but I figured the question will get that response cause it is similar to the one I would give when asked about the rival team in Israel.
Even if you ask a Yankees fan about a Red Sox fan, it will never come anywhere close to the emotion you genuinely shown here. It’s both good and bad.
Here’s a translation of a song that was sang in Basketball games I used to attend. Granted, it’s probably on the very extreme end of the spectrum when it comes to my team fan songs and only sang by the “Ultras”, but still very loud inside a small basketball arena.
It has a catchy tune and the sentences rhyme better:
"I thank the lord that [Name of the rival city team Chairman] has no parents.
I wish he will meet them soon, [i wish] tomorrow morning he’ll be buried
That after them he would walk and in his grave he will roll
May he burn in hell, [Name] is an orphan.
[Name] is an orphan> X 5
[Name] kill yourself already,
I hate [rival team name]"
Now, I grew up loving this team and said chairman is the Mitch Mconnell of Israeli sport, but not sure I can justify taking my son to a game and explaining this to him.
Rangers are garbage. They are certainly not alone in European football and the truth is in 2020 they all qualify as bad guys when considering the way they operate in the world, but some clubs are historically proud of being huge scumbags.
I’m not arguing against, I really am thinking about it as I did have the same independent and traveled with friends to games. He’s too young right now for this to be an issue, but it’s on my mind.
Here’s a live performance. And this is a team I’m so proud of. The mayor of Tel Aviv ordered our home court to be destroyed to build some skyscraper. The owner of our team was a corrupted idiot who somehow got up the ranks and supported the move.
The fans then decided to build their own team from scratch, name it after the destroyed stadium and go up from the 5th league all way to the first. It was self financed till we reached the 1st division (granted, as some local heroes went with the new team, we outmatched most of our opponents in the lower leagues).
After a couple of years the “original” team disbanded and we took back the full name.
So yeah, we stand for great things. It’s also the so called “leftist” team. But it’s also full of hate that is hard to ignore at times.
I don’t want to think about that thank you. Jesus. Take a hint.
If you want free money Napoli advancing over Barca is a lock.
