Boom.
No team espys this year, Chiefs fans pissed, Rob Riggle pissed the Astros got one and Chiefs don’t lol “he went there”
Pinnacle don’t give odds for a tie in NFL games. Does this mean all bets on the winner are null and void in that event?
ML bets (or lines that are pk) are a push, yes.
I don’t know. The best players are foreign, sure, but English teams do with the CL.
This season has been pretty average, I agree, which is how Liverpool amassed so many points.
Lol FB - I reported this ad/site as a scam (selling Keen’s for 75-85% off - magically available in all models and sizes). So of course, the next time I refresh the page - there it is front and center. People have been complaining about it since late May - still running.
I’d be surprised if we were actually interested in a ST, we have 4 good ones right now. We dont have a single good midfielder.
We’re not that bad yet, and our wage bill is 4x yours, so $$$ is the main thing.
Arteta was a good decision for us.
Fans are very much behind him. It might not work out (like almost any manager) but they want to see him given a prolonged chance and backed in the transfer market. We could have gone for the safe option of Anceolotti but would have missed out on Arteta which could have turned out to be a horrible mistake.
This way if Arteta doesn’t work out we’ve spent another couple of years in the wilderness which is far from the end of the world, then will appoint someone else, so we’re basically freerolling.
Arteta clearly rates Nketiah. When we sell Aubamayang and Lacazette I expect us to be in the market for a striker who’s ready to to start games and share that role with Nketiah.
The biggest problem is Ozil’s 350k/week wages for another year.
Being in the wilderness for 2 or 3 years isn’t bad if that’s the plan. If you’re going to cut spending on older players, invest in youth and aim to return in 3-5 years that’s fine. With Arsenal, there doesn’t seem to have been a cohesive plan of late. You break your transfer record on a striker, then again on another striker within a year when they don’t work great together.
It took Klopp 3 years to make the team good. The team was awful when he took over.
So, you have Ozil, Lacazette, Kolasanic, Luiz on a combined 8500k a week and none are guaranteed starters.
I’d sell pretty much everyone over 25, but they need 3-4 midfielders.
It’s all down to the owner. The hope is either he finds some cash to invest and it works, or the fans lose patience not with Arteta but with Kronke and he 's forced to sell to better owners out of embarrassment at the banners, chants etc.
What really bothers me at the moment is how corrupt some of the transfer deals look under the new “management”.
Cash isn’t that much of an issue. Obviously not injecting makes it tougher to compete with City. That’s obvious. But, they have the 10th highest wage bill in world football. £240 million. They have gotten absurdly terrible value for that money.
Might be well known over in the US but this is a cool story
Clive Tyldesley has written to the Professional Footballers’ Association suggesting co-commentators are given proper training after a study found “evident bias” in how darker-skinned players are described in broadcasts.
The study, conducted by Danish firm RunRepeat in association with the PFA, found that 62.6 percent of praise regarding a player’s intelligence was aimed at those with lighter skin, while 63.33 percent of criticism for a player’s intelligence was aimed at those with darker skin. The findings also show that
The study looked at a total of 80 matches played in the Premier League, Italy’s Serie A, La Liga in Spain and Ligue 1 in France this season. It analysed 2,073 statements made by broadcasters speaking in English, working for media outlets in the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada.
Please train baseball commentors and well. If a gritty black player has ever existed I am not aware of it. Plenty of black baseball players with raw talent and athleticism though.
Came here to post this. Fun read. Anyone have any similar stories of pro’s playing under the influence in any sport?
I used to play league cricket (Saturday) with a handful of semi/ex pro’s in either side. Sunday, and frequently mid-week, we’d recieve touring sides or play “Gents” games (Shropshire Gents v Worcestershire Gents for e.g, 50/50 mix of Minor County players and boozers). Any pro’s out of nick used these games as a practice session/confidence booster.
During these friendlies 2 or 3 of us would partake in space cakes at the toss and I’d squeeze in a reefer down at fine leg as the spectators/wind allowed.
Helped my bowling quite a lot, could just float in and drop it on a length no worries. Batting however was scary at times!
Once had to leave the field due to a giggling fit induced by a fellow boozers 4th huge wide in succession from his ‘frog in a blender’ leg spin.
He dropped more acid after waking from what he thought was a catnap, believing it still to be Thursday. That’s when his friend entered the room with a newspaper in hand and an unmistakable look of concern: not only were the Pirates scheduled to play a doubleheader that day , but Ellis was scheduled to pitch. In four hours. In a different city.
I didn’t know you’re a Brit.
I used to play weekend cricket for about 15 years. The team used to meet in the nearest pub at 11 and take cans to the game where people would usually be skinning up throughout. Lunch was also liquid in the same pub. The standard wouldn’t have been good anyway, so it didn’t matter uch.
