I don’t know what to make about the egg-eating scene but I do not like it! I know it’s not what’s happening here but I really hope to someday see Helly pretending to be Helena in a classic switcheroo.
Milchick tells Eustace Huang that her bed will be moved from her parents home when she’s sent to the arctic or whatever. To me this is a clear callback to Ricken’s thing about kids being traumatized by losing beds. I don’t know if this means that Ricken is indeed connected to Lumon, but imo this is 100% intentional, even if it’s just a red herring.
This is me seeing shadows everywhere, but: is Radar more than just a dog? lol I’m losing it
The whole Burt/Irv thing. For starters, Irv is not the least bit surprised to find Burt in his place going through his stuff. The notes that Burt is reading show that outie Irv seemed to have a pretty good inkling of what was going on, including disappearances like Gemma’s. AND he knew Burt was up to no good prior to going there for dinner (I think).
This is bordering on plot-hole hunting which I am trying to avoid, but: why is Dylan allowed to resign? Did his outie already say he was quitting? Are they actually upholding what Milchick said at the beginning of the season, that they could leave at any time? Or is there something else going on?
Milchick’s defense of himself notwithstanding, he is truly a terrible manager and fucked all this up, from the initial OTC to the absolutely predictable disaster with Dylan and his wife.
Cobel tells Mark/us that Gemma dies when Cold Harbor is complete, but of course tells us nothing about what the fuck it is. Come on now.
Cobel says “She’s one of Jame’s” at the birthing retreat guard house. Does that just mean she’s severed, or does Jame have a shitload of offpsring? Are any of these other people (aside from Helena) Jame’s children?
Devon and Cobel’s handling of Mark’s innie at the birthing retreat was ridiculous. When he wakes up does Devon explain to him what’s going on and that Cobel is helping them? No of course not she leads him wordlessly upstairs where Cobel is in the scariest setting possible framed by a fire. Did they wait outside for a while for Cobel to get everything set up just right lol?
Overall I do think there was some tenuous plot stuff presented here but I’m really trying to stay away from that angle. So many loose ends. I am prepared to be thrilled, confused, intrigued, and disappointed by the finale. Which, by the way, is 76 minutes long.
Well that one is simple, I think: Mark has something specific to do with Cold Harbor personally.
A problem I’m running into is that for so long the characters we saw didn’t know anything about anything. But now we’re seeing characters that totally know what’s going on, or should/could know what’s going on, and we still don’t know. Mark and Devon, make Cobel tell you the whole story. Irv, make Burt explain exactly what he did, etc etc etc.
I still love the show a lot, and I’m not surprised it’s a bigger lift now that all the pieces have to start fitting together.
