My ex girlfriend has a daughter who has CF and has had a lung transplant and they are all just freaking out right now. Her older daughter had it and died two years ago. I don’t even know what to say to her

My brother and his wife are huge Trumpkins.They live in NJ but my brother works in NYC and his wife works at some dialysis place. Both are showing cracks in their Trumpkin beliefs. My bother sent me a text saying “Corporations are getting bailed out but I still have to take the subway into the city. I might be making myself sick for a job that’s gonna lay me off once the city closes.” My sister in law mentioned she’s washing her hands so much her skin is cracking and bleeding. They may support Trump but they sure as hell know this isn’t a hoax. I wonder how many other Trumpkins are thinking the same.

I also noticed both complaints are about THEM, and not society in general. Fucking conservatives man.
tell her to stay isolated. She certainly has an impaired immune system and very possibly has diabetes due to the CF. The good news is her lungs should be as healthy as any normal person. CF doesn’t hurt the lungs after transplant.

They’re in a liberal area and getting actually usable information on the reg. People here in Redneck, FL get everything from conservative talk radio and Fox News. I suspect that’s the same for most Repubes. Fox News has gotten a little better but the radio definitely hasn’t down here. They’re still comparing it to the flu as of literally today.

Mine is 90 out in Arizona. He says he is being good. He was a reluctant trump voter and now regrets it. But he has lots of derp friends. I’ve copied in on some family emails. I am the resident microbiologist after all.

No one knows what COVID means. Everyone has an idea of what China is.
It’s going to take a dead body to even have a chance of shattering their beliefs…and that’s nowhere near guaranteed to affect them sufficiently.

yeah i’ve resigned myself to the fact that its going to take a major cities hospitals being overrun with dead bodies or someone like tom hanks needs to die for anyone to really start caring. sorry tom.
