SARS-CoV-2: Electric Superflu

In Italy people except that their grandma is going to die without a ventilator. In the US - they may show up at the hospital with a gun.

Lol nobody thinks you look center-left

Asked him to wash hands once he came in. Put a plastic sheet over the bed and then tossed it when he was done. Wiped down everything he touched. Now airing out the room. Felt so weird the whole time to have someone in the apartment. Strange times we live in.

idiots not filing their taxes certainly could effect distributions to the 5% of Americans those idiots represent. Who gives a shit? The administration can easily distribute money to 90%+ of the population just through the IRS+SNAP.

We don’t have a good handle on how many of these people get it and are totally asymptomatic or think they just have the regular flu. All of these figures need to be taken with a grain of salt.

Gee I wonder is there is a correlation between those not filing taxes and those who are poorest and in most need of the cheque.

Victoar snap hearting your post is showing the mask slip a little.

I swear you used to have a sense of humor.

The joke is everyone knows you’re the biggest radical lefty on here and it would kill you to call you center left.

ba dump bum

Suzzer wasn’t poor when he didn’t file taxes. Or, rather, his brokeness wasn’t why he didn’t file taxes and why you couldn’t get him a free money check from the government. He was a young moron who cost himself money by not filing. You’re not going to get a check to these idiots no matter what you do. The vast majority of the working poor file their taxes because they get money by doing so and they aren’t idiots.

I honestly have no idea what your point is. Can you get free money to 100% of Americans in the next two weeks? Of course not. Could you pretty easily, through existing methods, get free money to 90%+ of Americans? Absolutely.

So what was the problem?

Wtf at this tax discussion? Do you really think the US government doesn’t have this information? 7 million people may not have filed but you have this number because they know those 7 million people didn’t file and have chosen not to pursue it.

Are some of you living under the belief that you actually have privacy in this country?

His claim was about the logistics of distributing claims in under two weeks. All of y’all should drop it.

Here’s what i looks like.

“A point that graph really underscores is that flattening the curve only matters if the peak doesn’t substantially exceed the care capacity. At some point, a big majority of cases aren’t going to get proper care no matter what you do.”

The point is not to get to that point.

12 days?

12 days ago we were all predicting this is where we would be; we weren’t sure that companies and such would act so fast so yeah, everything closed is kinda surreal, but it’s not like he’s been gone since January; he went in knowing Corona was in the US and around the world and exponentially growing.

Work from home plus no school has been very tough. Plus my idiot neighbors send their kids over to play and we say no and it’s pretty hard to explain to a 7 year old without saying the neighbor mommies and daddies are fucking morons.

For others considering wearing an N95 mask for an extended period / re-using:

https://www.cdc.gov/niosh/topics/hcwcontrols/recommendedguidanceextuse.html

  • Hang used respirators in a designated storage area or keep them in a clean, breathable container such as a paper bag between uses. To minimize potential cross-contamination, store respirators so that they do not touch each other and the person using the respirator is clearly identified. Storage containers should be disposed of or cleaned regularly.
  • Clean hands with soap and water or an alcohol-based hand sanitizer before and after touching or adjusting the respirator (if necessary for comfort or to maintain fit).
  • Avoid touching the inside of the respirator. If inadvertent contact is made with the inside of the respirator, perform hand hygiene as described above.
  • Use a pair of clean (non-sterile) gloves when donning a used N95 respirator and performing a user seal check. Discard gloves after the N95 respirator is donned and any adjustments are made to ensure the respirator is sitting comfortably on your face with a good seal.

Nevada finally shutting down casinos. Lol at the “it’s just a flu” crowd who hopped on cheap flights.

I mean, I’ll admit 12 days ago I wasn’t really thinking about this at all.

Wife and I are both WFH with a 2nd grader.

Hasn’t been easy. We’re still trying to figure out how to make it work.

School hasn’t sent anything to help us though really. They’ve been very concerned with making sure all kids have access to materials before putting any out.

I’ve started a Google support group for the other 2nd grade parents at my daughter’s school to share resources and stuff.

It’s going to be a long year or whatever. Thankfully the weather has been getting better in Western Washington and we’ve been able to get outside and burn some energy.
