SARS-CoV-2: Electric Superflu

Just saw this, don’t know how legitimate it is.

Realizing I have no idea what my blood type is.

Local Mexican grocery/taco shop comes through! (They had two full pallets, as well, so if anyone’s near Ramona, CA and is desperate, Ramona Market on Main is the place to go )

Side note: they are pretty much always awesome. Fresh, cheap produce, and they make the best (and only) chilaquiles in town. Wasn’t very full, so I felt sufficiently social-distanced.

My county has fewer than ten percent of the inhabitants of WV and it tested 80 people yesterday (not cumulative, but on the date).
One of them tested positive - the fifth case around here

2 days into my works lock down and oh my fucking God get your shitty screaming kids away from your work calls how fucking hard is this :expressionless:

Made a Costco run this afternoon. Parking lot didn’t look full As I drove by so I went for it. Was a little busier than usual but no lines at all. I avoided aisles where people were bunched up. I did hear two people cough while in there so that sucks. Didn’t even look to see if there were Clorox wipes or tp. I was extremely anxious entire time I was in there. Part of me wishes I could be like the people just chomping away on their 1.50 hot dogs with bare hands.

order a lamp and a smart plug off of amazon, better than an overhead light.

Apparently the lady who runs the company the gf works for spent the morning chewing everyone out for talking about working from home, which resulted in several people discussing leaving after this is all over. It’s a small company (<100) and basically all the jobs but a handful are done entirely on the computer or over the phone.

Also woke up with a dry cough, but I’m assuming it was just asthma as it went away after using an inhaler and it hasn’t came back yet.

Want a test? Just become an NBA’er.

Seems legit, it’s common for people with different blood types to be more/less susceptible to viruses.

Just took a short walk outside in our suburban residential neighborhood. Talked to two neighbors who were also out, and both made sure to stay 6+ feet away without being prompted. Several others sitting out on their porches. It almost felt more like a neighborhood than ever before, where people were living a shared experience. I guess that may be one silver lining of this. More people exercising/walking because it’s the only safe way to leave the house and a common bond between strangers.

Updating now wrt my post from like 10 days back. Well uh, I was ready to jump on a flight as of like two weeks ago. Wife hesitated for derp reasons. I think you guys can understand how infuriated I was, but I kept it to myself (I’m probably a bigger derper than her for this.) Now she’s finally down, but it feels irresponsible to leave because if we’re not already infected, we’d prob contract it from the airport or the layover. So ya I’m with the rest of you bros, waiting out the apocalypse here in the glorious US of A. Not totally excited, but at least I’ve got peanut butter and oats to last me for centuries. C’est la vie

Our Y gave us the option to not pay but if we do pay it goes to the staff. So while are income has taken a big hit we have some liquid savings so we will decide month by month. Month 1 we are paying

We had paid our house cleaner a visit ahead but asked her to just keep it and not come over for now. She is from Poland originally but knows someone in Italy and has been getting first hand reports.

If the wife’s business gets whacked we may have to tighten these things up but not quite yet.

About damn time. Germany still had regularly scheduled flights from Iran and passengers weren’t even checked when disembarking.

Apparently one is Kevin Durant and the Nets did not play the pistons or jazz recently.

addendum: I’m 31 and she is 29. Good chance one of us or both of us is asymptomatic and could spread to others unwittingly

How could this ever be abused?

very rarely. I probably tubed half a dozen people for alcohol withdrawal over 25 years (not counting Jim-Morrison-puked-and-aspirated types, who frequently die)

Lourdes, a place of pilgrimage in France for Catholics which claims to be able to heal people is closing for the first time ever. Of course it should, but as a Catholic atheist it raised a chuckle.

Fruits and vegetables aren’t the problem. Walking into downtown Chernobyl to pick them out of a garden would be though. Why can’t you just have them delivered, maybe in canned form?

Welcome to the down side of gambling, it has always been this way. No one wants to play people as good as they are for real money, everyone wants to play against the fish. The whole industry is based on taking money from suckers. Don’t let the suckers being more obviously pathetic right now turn you off, this is what it always has been.
