I’m not debating whether or not homeopathic vendors should be allowed–they just are. My question was about whether the farmers’ market erred in allowing them to sell during a period when coronavirus has restricted some types of vendors.

Well it wasn’t next-day but still less than 48 hours for a result.

My wife was negative for covid-19 but still positive for pneumonia so she has to take a second round of antibiotics.

He says she could have had it previously and it caused the pneumonia or she could not; no way to know until antibody testing is available.

She spent a few days in a casino in late February or early March with someone who died of coronavirus a few weeks later, so she faded it big time if she never had it.

Hopefully this second round gets rid of the pneumonia.

Yes it erred. Only the food vendors are essential. If you aren’t allowing toys or clothes or video games to be sold then why allow fake snake oil? Just because it’s named “medicine?”

The chicken processing plant in my hometown in AL is still open and the employees want it shut down. I expect it will happen soon for that facility and others like it. I expect a yuge chicken shortage once they start shutting down.

If food suppliers start shutting down then WAAF.

Interesting article about what NYC did in 1918. I liked this gem:

New York City was a perfect breeding ground for a flu. Rush hour had just been created with the installation and expansion of the subway and elevated trains. The earliest commuters packed the cars. Water fountains that featured a single community cup had only recently been done away with by a “Ban the Cup” campaign.

“It was believed, at the time, that that was safe because the cup was always being washed by the water,” Ms. Henry said.

It’s funny how you just assume water fountains have always been like the ones we grew up with. Then you realize it was actually a design driven by a health disaster like the Spanish Flu.

I’m gonna guess Mississippi finally banned the last communal cup water fountain in 1972 or something.

My brother tested positive this morning. Took 3 days to get results back. Says county sent him a oxygen measure thingy and will call him 3x a day.

This really sounds like it should be a euphemism for something.

Wow. Hope he’s ok. How are his symptoms?

Dry cough, feels like crap, no fever. Thinks he got around his birthday at beginning of month but isn’t sure. He’s 54 and on heart medication so hopefully it’s getting better.

What county is this? Sounds like they’re on the ball.

No fever seems like a good sign for now.

Yea I was surprised lol. He’s in Missoula MT I think. Somewhere up there.

Officially a blockbuster now.

Guy at work emailed me saying we are in “unchartered territory.” Is that bad?

My boss always says she wants to “touch basis”. I don’t have the heart to tell her.
