SARS-CoV-2: Electric Superflu

Popping my popcorn

Did you read the linked article in the conspiracy minded section of the nonsense… [checks notes]… Mercury News?

Yes. That not the conspiracy minded nonsense, your absurd conclusion is.

Lol… it’s been obvious for weeks. At this point your “Trump doesn’t want to cover up deaths” take is the conspiracy minded nonsense. Many tests, lots of tests, anyone who wants a test can get one!

An odd conspiracy. Disclosing that the teen tested positive for covid then saying that maybe he died of something else. Of course when he is the only teen to die of covid — certainly in the US, perhaps in the world — could it be important to investigate what he actually died of? No no it has to be Trump covering it up. Get the fuck out with that nonsense. The CDC is acting in good faith. Local health departments are acting in good faith. There is no mechanism for Trump to “cover up” covid cases or deaths.

And reflexively politicizing everything is terrible right now.

So, where can you go legally speaking for permanent residency?

I haven’t seen a parody of asshole landlords as good as this one in a while, definitely belongs in Best Of!

120 days, LOL, who would be such an asshole as to actually do that in the real world? Classic!

We’re missing lots, and based on the reaction of my normal friends who pay some, but not a ton, of attention to the news… This is going to 100% work. They kind of give me the, “Yeah, ok, sure,” response with the “That’s some conspiracy theory nonsense,” tone response when I mention that tons of deaths are slipping through the cracks and not being counted.

Basically, Keeed is a pretty good proxy for most Americans on this issue. They know Trump lies a lot, but what kind of monster would lie about THIS? And how would he even get away with it? No way!

First confirmed case where I live (Thunder Bay, Ontario). A couple went on a week vacation to Florida and brought it back with them. At least they say they self isolated when they came back. We are totally fucked once this spreads here. The local hospital doesn’t have enough beds at the best of times so basically no chance they won’t be overwhelmed.

Canada about to be wrecked by all the snowbirds coming back :(

We are hitting 1k/reported deaths a day by Tuesday at the latest and probably 5k/day by next weekend and the media is still doing SHOULD WE CHOOSE THE GEEZERS OR THE MONEYZ stories on most outlets. Living through one of the worst things to occur in history in the worst possible place on earth is going to be fun as fuck. Can’t wait for easter.

I think it’s difficult to analyze the US number overall, because you’re really looking at numerous outbreaks. So let’s say New York gets it somewhat under control, which I feel like at this point means blowing through capacity, flattening the curve based on efforts already carried out but lagging in the results, and then works it back below capacity… That might not show much on a nationwide chart if ATL, NOLA, Detroit and Chicago blow up a week or two later… Then if they start to flatten and LA, Houston, Philadelphia, and Baltimore blow up… etc etc…

In reality the question is can the United States mitigate total disaster here on a region-by-region basis? So we have to base the answer on the early regions, and thus looking at the growth in specific areas is probably a better window into it.

Chicago getting 3k beds from the Army, starting end of next werk.

They’re saying Chicago will have negative pressure rooms, though most field hospitals won’t. Of course, there aren’t any vents for this.

This is common knowledge, but just in case for those who might not know. The thing about exponential growth is that time is an irrelevant axis and does not say much at all about where we are in the midst of this or where we’re going. There’s really know way to know if we’re at the beginning, middle, or end, unless of course a saturation point is reached.

It’s criminal how some of these governors who have no idea how exponential growth works are handling this. I’ll say it again… When this is all over they should be held criminally responsible for could be thousands or perhaps millions of unnecessary deaths they will be causing by refusing to act in the most aggressive matter RIGHT NOW

There were 50 million deaths from the Spanish Flu right? And this was in 1919. Considering how easy it is to travel now and the population of the world today, we could blow past that number. That’s insane.

They must all be dead, I can’t think of any other reason anyone would cancel a cell subscription when they aren’t allowed out of their houses.
