Sure you can. Just gotta get a backhoe.

Shouldn’t we be burning the dead? Maybe I don’t understand how viruses react when the host dies but it seems bad to have a bunch of infected dead people laying around outside

Not necessary if you still have body bags and refrigerated trucks.

and $20 an hour guys to digs holes (like lotsa holes) Don’t want CV coming back, eh.

Gonna have to rename Disney World “The deadliest place on earth.”

Dude, it’s Friday at 2:50. Clearly @Inso0 is busy dealing with a bunch of tenants pretending to have broken furnaces.

Hasn‘t a hospitalization rate of 20% been known or at least suspected for weeks now?

This is a pretty dodgy chart!

No day in the doubles-every-four-days section has a doubling time of more than four days, and no day in the doubles-every-three-days section has a doubling time slower than three days. And between 3/17 and 3/19 (“doubles every 2.5 days”), cases more than doubled!

That’s supposed to be a point against, I hope? You need to willfully blind yourself to a whole lot of human misery to enjoy Vegas.

U.S. per capita GDP is 33% higher than Canada’s tho.

To gain a little perspective on how things are in New York:

Yeah, surely they could squeeze a ‘deaths’ bar in the graph there somewhere.

“We’re at war but only reporting numbers of hospitalized folks”

Yeah death counts in NYC are going to be way undercounted when people start dying in their homes en masse because they can’t get to the hospitals.

All of this is super-depressing.

It’s not the pandemic itself but the response to it that has made me feel hopeless for America. I mean if an existential threat to millions can’t get people to change their behavior and opinions, then what can?

America was on the path towards authoritarianism that was accelerated first by 9/11. Then it was the growth of the NSA and now it’s coronavirus. What was once an inevitability that would come in the distant future is now a more urgent reality. I’d argue at this point that we could see the complete dissolution of democracy within America in the next few years.

The implications of covid19 for America are going to be so far-reaching that no reasonable person can claim to predict them. Are we going to see an insurrection against the government once mass unemployment, eviction, and bankruptcy hits the country? Are we going to see an increase in crime, drug use and illegal sex work? How will the average person respond to deaths to their loved ones, one that could have been prevented by a proper and effective response?

Normally, the whole chaos in the street narrative in response to somebody getting elected or some shit like that is laughed off. But the damage from this could be bad enough that chaos in the street is within the realm of possible outcomes.

Canada better start building a border wall (or a Ninja Warrior course) because illegal immigration from America is going to become a huge problem real soon.

It’s how we afford the name brand garbage bags for our doctors and nurses to wear!

NBA analyst extraordinaire, Doris Burke, has announced she has corona.

Coumo closer than Trump, but still no banana… will be correct tomorrow. It’s what you do with them when you find that’s more important, right SK?

Has New York really tested more than South Korea?

In his daily press conference earlier on Friday, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said the state had conducted proportionally more coronavirus tests than South Korea.

That is not correct.

The latest state data shows 138,376 people have been tested in New York, that’s almost one in every 140.It is far more than any other state in the United States, but not quite as many as South Korea, as claimed by Mr Cuomo.South Korea has tested around one in every 136 people, according to the latest figures provided by its government.
