SARS-CoV-2: Electric Superflu

I have a feeling a lot of productions will be delayed, but I’m curious to see what gets canceled and what gets fast-tracked back into production as soon as its safe. Sometimes studios shake their heads and start over, but the more conservative (heh) studio heads look at sunk costs and see it’s too expensive to start over with a new property. Six seasons of The Stand and a movie!

That is a pretty poor example by ins0. The only reason someone would wait on something like that is if they were overwhelmed with other stuff at the time.

Why should building maintenance be a m-f 9-5 job? People live there 24/7. Building maintenance should not care when you call them, it’s their job and they should be there at the convenience of the tenants not the other way around.

If you don’t live like an animal you won’t have brown water come out of your sink, obviously.

None of this belongs in this thread so this will be my last response unless we want to move it elsewhere:

I’ve probably already put too much of my personal life out here in the forum, but my job involves, among other things, prosecuting housing code violations in rental properties. My personal experiences with landlords have been largely neutral to bad, but my professional experience shows me that I’ve been lucky and there are a whole lot of people paying a lot of money to live in hellish conditions.

FWIW when I was a tenant I was always the type to try to fix issues myself rather than have the landlord come out and do it. But I think it’s kind of crazy that you think a tenant waiting a few days to report an issue is a good reason for a landlord to become “jaded” and turn into a slumlord. People have shit to do, other things on their mind, and reporting that kind of thing to your landlord is stressful.

Yeah like I took immense precautions, but my Dad is having medical problems and had to have surgery, and in going to see him before the surgery I discovered that their idea of stocking up for a couple weeks was not stocking up at all - they bought like 1.5 weeks of regular food, no extra dry/canned food. Then in frustration over his medical problem having some complications, he went to the grocery store for a gallon of milk within 24 hours of his surgery, when he was under general anesthesia. We had discussed him not leaving the house other than for doctors appointments for a month after the surgery, we had discussed ways to order, we had discussed me getting it for him. But nope, he got pissed at how things were going and went himself.

Totally out of my control and devastating to my psyche. Tomorrow I have to defy the stay at home order in my area to go get his 401K paperwork and deliver it to his old employer because it has to be in by this week and he didn’t bother to do it over the last 4+ months he’s been retired.

So no matter how much you prep, you’re only as prepped as the weakest link among your loved ones. No matter how much they say they’ve prepped, if you haven’t seen it, you don’t know for sure.

It’s been a shitty 4-5 days, on top of worrying about my Dad’s underlying medical concerns, I’ve got the extra COVID-19 risk he had to have going to the hospital, then the extra risk he took himself to go to the store and to pump gas with no precautions. Then the extra risk he’s as a result put on my Mom, and then again on me. I’m totally helpless in the face of all that, all I can do is mask up and put on gloves and hope/pray for the best.

New York Governor: Federal aid package is ‘irresponsible, reckless’

Workers and Military Members build a makeshift morgue outside of Bellevue

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said he was “disappointed” with the $2bn (£1.6bn) aid bill passed by the US Senate on Wednesday.

“The congressional action, in my opinion, simply failed to address the governmental need,” Cuomo said at his daily press briefing.

“I find it irresponsible, I find it reckless.”

New York state remains the epicentre of the outbreak in the US.

As of Thursday, 37,258 people in New York have been diagnosed with Covid-19 - accounting for more than half the cases throughout the country. At least 385 people in the state have died from the virus.

Any “realistic” scenario will “overwhelm hospitals”, he said. “You cannot get the curve down low enough.”

Correct. He wouldn’t be able to get that sweet extra $600 Unemployment benefit if he quits.

Tenant spent six months spending money out of his own pocket because you didn’t provide him with a functional washing machine, and you’re upset because he finally asked you to fix it.

When you say “I doubt this” - like, why do you think he’s lying? Even if he was, who cares? What is unreasonable about any of what you described?

Inso0, how much would I have to pay you to do an AMA titled something like “Ask me anything about being a Compassionate Christian but also thinking Jesus was kind of a snowflake libtard pussy”?

I’m totally serious. You’re elite even among the purer strains of that breed of hypocrite.

Hey any chance we can move this to the “Inso is a piece of shit slumlord who doesn’t care about other humans” thread? This thread is about a parasite, but not the parasite that is Inso.

Has inso ever considered that these tenants wait until late Friday afternoon to report issues because they think that the person that is repairing them is an asshole and they want to piss them off?

It was unreasonable because Ins0 had to work on the weekend.

Anyways I think ins0 should start an AMA on building management and we can take all this there.

I know this topic was like 500 posts ago, but regarding if things would be different if there was a dem in the white house…

When Ebola hit, didn’t Obama send a team out to west africa when it emerged to start studying it and helping? I think Obama would have had a team on the ground in Wuhan pronto after this things started building up, or at least been in contact with China and trying to help contain it, rather than blaming firing off tweets calling it the China Virus. I also think he would have put out some recommendations that governors start putting their states on lockdown a few weeks ago.
