Hahaha… I’m not saying we were 3 feet apart, I’m saying our faces were.
I’m not going to draw a diagram, but I’m sure you can figure it out lol…

It’s definitely less dangerous than the pliers method or side of counter method. You can break your hand, the bottle, or both with the side of counter. With the knife method you put the edge of the knife on the lip of the cap right at the heel of the knife. Then you’ve got a lever the length of the width of the knife and you can easily pop the cap off.
I don’t know the pliers method other than using a pliers to grab the edge of the cap and bend and that doesn’t seem dangerous at all.
If you’re at a risk of breaking your hand or the bottle, I feel like you’re not doing it right.
In b4 SB winds up in the ER.
if you’re not at risk with these methods you aren’t drinking correctly
a hattori hanzo sword will work in a pinch
My 80yo diabetic m-in-Law went to church today. Her husband is 96 I think.
Costco trip report:
My line-mates and I thought maybe they’d open earlier than usual, but they didn’t. So I was in line from like 7:15 until 9:45. By the time they opened there were hundreds and hundreds of people in line behind me, hard to say because at some point I could no longer see the end of the line.
When they let us in they didn’t ration 50 people at a time or anything. I don’t know if they stopped the flow behind me at any point. Upon entering everybody dashed for the TP and water, but I was there for the food - was the only person in the produce area when I got there. I know that Costco like the back of my hand, so my route was produce - meat - dairy - paper products - frozen/refrigerated foods - packaged goods - vitamin/medical. Paper products was definitely the hot spot, they were directing traffic there and people were crazy.
Achieved my objective. I have a few other reasons to leave the house in the next 30ish days, but more food won’t be necessary. We are set.
Side note: my dog is freaking out. I’m sure she’s sensing the stress in me. Or at least I hope she’s sensing stress, and not the virus.
I shoot the cap off. No reason to go overboard though, I have a little .22 for this.
Colleague with cystic fibrosis had been self-isolating because she’s immunocompromised and has ~22% lung function. Just found out she’s staying with her parents, who are both 70+. Apparently the parents are ‘only going to the shops’ - this is bad, right?
And it’s kind of bad news generally for her - it’s not clear she’ll be safe to go out in public or even have visitors at any point before there’s a vaccine or something. I’m pretty sure she has no chance of surviving it, she’s already pretty long in the tooth for CF.

I’m really starting to think masks are the key.
I’m buying a gun.
Note to fellow gang members: I know a second location for after the Suzzer tuna score.
Irl I’m going to Wal-Mart today. Don’t yell at me, I’m shopping for my mom and hopefully m-in-Law as well.
My next door neighbor is definitely fucked if she gets coronavirus. She’s at least in her 70s and has emphysema. She never leaves her flat because she doesn’t have the leg strength to get back up the stairs (it’s an 8 flight walk). So her daughter comes by to check on her daily. If her daughter gets it, it’s over for her.
If there’s any positive news, it’s that these restrictions on movement and social distancing really do work in stopping the spread. It’s just that the effects aren’t seen immediately. Takes a few days. Going from 109 new cases one day to 46 the next is a good sign. Of course there’s still a bit more time for another announcement to dash my hopes but 46 is a good number. I really hope Americans abide by this because it will save lives.
I just wonder what will happen when these businesses reopen on the 26th.
Liquor stores near me had TP a couple days ago.
Trump low energy today. Sad!
Just look at the contagion curves of the Asian countries. They’re all wearing masks.
Again, a country of 96 million that borders China and trades more with China than any other country went 22 straight days without a new case of C-19 infection.
Can someone anyone - get the media to start asking if wearing masks in public works? It will never come from the top down.
